Okay so like I have a Thing to shout about

It's a pet peeve of mine, always has been, that when you are making an estimation of something, especially when it's scientific (like most things on Star Trek are), you aren't making a THEORY, it's a HYPOTHESIS. Unless something scientific is tried and tested with multiple sources of evidence, it is STILL A HYPOTHESIS.

So you are trying to tell me that the fuckin' chief Science Officer, the king of concise, the Vulcan that calculates probabilities to the thousandths place decimal point, would NOT also have this same nit to pick?? You're telling me that every time Jim says:

"Any theories, Mr. Spock?"

Spock doesn't just whirl on him like:

"No theories. There is not enough evidence. My hypothesis, however, is--"

No? Never? He just... let's that slide every time?? I mean, I'm just a geologist but I always correct someone when I hear it.
