Why you need to vote against Scottish Labour in Scotland on Thursday
Meanwhile at Scottish Labour, some Labour candidates are bravely announcing their support for independence despite Anas Sarwar’s vow to remove the candidacy of anyone who does.
This is going to be a hilarious mess. Either he axes the 25 councillor candidates in a way that pushes pro-indy labour voters away, or he keeps them in and gets accused by diehard labour unionists and Tories that he’s weak on the union.
Vote labour, get tories?
These two on Twitter are the cutest!
Setting of the Scottish Sun on Sturgeon...
When you've even lost the Scottish Sun - the newspaper that supported you in the last 4 elections, the paper you held up proudly with your picture on the front page, the paper YOU write for - its time to be gone!
When even the Scottish Sun sets on your emporium for flogging nothing but “recycled smoke & mirrors” you know your are done.
“desperately reinventing themselves as friends of the people, rather than merely cronies of the unquestioning faithful”
Scotland is not interested in your continuing alchemy where everything you touch turns to shit.
Begone ye witch! And take your party of Hags & Druids with you.
Sorry but honeslty? Scottish labour should be ashamed of themselves, they and the Scottish conservatives told people to treat this election as a precursor to indyref2 NOT as an election going into brexit negotiations and the next five years over all. And their voters turned out accordingly...
There is a certain irony to white people with progressive politics rubbishing what Sadiq Khan has to say about racism
Ok the author raises some good points in this article about that should be addressed. Yes there are some Scottish Nationalists who do fall under the scary Cyber-Nats that talk about "Pure Scottish blood" and attack both Union supporters and the Independence groups.
Her point on our common crime of forgetting Scotland's role in the slave trade and Empire building is true as it is sadly often left out of our nations narrative. This is something that has been addressed slightly in museums but is often glossed over. The one of the few major museums that addresses these issues is The Kelvingrove in Glasgow where amongst other displays detailing Scotland’s role in the Empire, this man, Raj Pal who has done sterling work in bringing the history of Asian communities in Britain to the public, is quoted:
We can’t respond to Sadiq Khan’s comments with “There is no racism in Scotland” And there is a problem with racism in Scotland, I have seen it. Sadiq Khan has most likely experienced it! But to insinuate it is only the SNP and Independence supporters who are guilty of this does not address the problem.
