Trying a trend I saw Hannah Kaner doing - What if Call of the Black Wing was a Netflix limited series?
Using The Witcher, Wolfwalkers, The Outpost, and Castlevania as similar titles.

Making the case for why every game should have an easy mode BECAUSE it enables gamers to truly experience the vision of the game's creators
A pretty good one-stop-shop on why no one should watch the new Harry Potter TV show
An excellent video about two of my pet peeves from Darren Moody
"I’m not a philosopher. I don’t hold Romeo is a Dead Man up as a text upon which someone should build their entire worldview."
But this excellent article from Motherboard (a great new nerd culture website) suggests maybe you should
"Don't waste too much time talking with this guy. You're gonna screw up the tempo."
Making the case for difficulty modes for video games from a slightly different angle. That, because everyone is coming to games with different skill levels, it's the only way to actually deliver the same experience - the same creator's vision - for everyone.
Without a cheat mod, I would never have played Elden Ring. It’s just too hard, and there is no guarantee I’d ever “git gud”. But now I have played it with such a mod; and the game is amazing and I’m so glad I was able to have the experience rather than just passing it by for something else more accessible.

Midnight Pals: No Politics
[at space coven] Andy Weir: beep boop submitted for the approval of the space coven, i call this the story of the martian Weir: it is a story about the cold triumph of science, with no distracting theme or motif Weir: only science Weir: beep boop
Weir: i will use this story to convey the following scientific facts to you Weir: (1) the atmospheric co-efficient of Mars Weir: (2) the tangent cosign of the hypotenuse of space Weir: (3) the importance of STEM Weir: (4) the langitudinal curve of space-time squared Weir: beep boop
Jule Verne: but andy, don't you see? stories can be about more than cold facts! Weir: beep boop Weir: prognosis negative Weir: further input required Weir: explain data Verne: theme and motif can communicate the ineffable experience of being human Weir: ERROR ERROR THAT SOUNDS LIKE POLITICS ERROR
Verne: through the medium of story, we can truly achieve human connection and plumb the true depth of humanity! Verne: now a lot of people think that 20,000 leagues under the sea is just a story about a cool submarine Verne: but it's actually much, much more Weir: does not compute
Verne: it's about what it means to be part of the brotherhood of man Verne: it's about life and loss and love! Weir: what is this love you speak of Verne: oh andy Verne: how can i describe love Weir: why are your ocular orbs leaking Weir: are your circuits in need of repair
Verne: do you understand what i'm saying? story is about meaning Weir: i liked the part where they fought the squid Verne: oh yeah everyone likes that part HG Wells: it was pretty cool Wells: andy's on to something there
Verne: how can i communicate the ineffable magic of story? Verne: if only there was someone whose whole bit was pontificating about the nature of story Verne: that would be a very useful person to have around in this situation
Robert Heinlein: forget these losers, andy, i've got a story that you'll really enjoy! Heinlein: it's about marines in space! and they have guns! Heinlein: [finger guns] pew pew pew pew! Heinlein: pew pew pew! pew pew! Verne: ok rob you've made your point Heinlein: I'M NOT DONE YET
Weir: beep boop i-i Weir: what is this strange sensation Weir: i feel Weir: i feel an emotion Weir: i feel like space marines shooting guns is totally badass Heinlein: eh? eh? see? Heinlein: you're welcome
Weir: beep boop i have always enjoyed escapist science fiction that is devoid of deeper meaning Weir: like the classic star trek Weir: harlan ellison is so good at that beep boop HG Wells: oh no Harlan Ellison: I WILL MURDER YOU AND EVERYONE HERE

People who claim JK Rowling doesn't hate trans people, that they have "done the research" or "can't find the sources" are liars.
They're either liars because they didn't do any research and they're just choosing to live in wilful ignorance and denial.
Or they're liars because they know full well she's cruel, vicious, and hateful and are spreading falsehoods to try and undermine the necessary work to end her dangerous influence.
Either way the truth is out there and clear to see. She has a social feed packed with her open and overt hatred. Journalists have been covering how she funds hate groups for years. None of it is truly deniable. None of it is hard to find. No one who has genuinely looked could possibly miss it.
Either way they don't deserve your respect or sympathies.

ok note to self i gotta leave the house regularly so that i dont feel like im slowly transforming into an evil fucking shadow clone of myself
So as it turns out your sense of self doesnt exist in a vacuum. You gotta actually use it and bounce it off of other people like echolocation to see where you are as a person and shit. So if you dont regularly interact with other people the echoes just get weaker and weaker and before you know it your personality is a blurry fucked up fog clone of its former self. which it sucks because this makes it really hard to interact with people again but yknow
Persona by Aoife Josie Clements
This also happens to people who spend all their time only interacting with people online.
I understand why many do it, I understand for many its not a choice, but it doesn't stop it having negative effects.
Part of how we need to bounce of people needs in-person interactions. So much of our interpersonal communication is non-verbal and that also means a lot of our sense of self is based off that communication as well.
Something it is really hard to achieve with purely online interactions.
It's no wonder why people who are (deliberately or involuntarily) trapped in a purely online existence can break a little.
