Hey, Sapphire. You caught me in a bit of a creative split-screen moment. It’s funny you ask that because I was just thinking about how much I need the fluff right now. My absolute fluffiest AU is one that actually sits outside the main FWC multiverse, though it borrows Bianca’s Redemption!AU backstory.
In this one, Bianca and Sephiroth adopt a five-year-old human orphan named Lyra after her parents—AVALANCHE fighters—are killed. Since Bianca can't have children of her own due to the breeding programs that haunt almost all my timelines, and having just endured the devastating loss of their ninth baby when they find her, Lyra becomes their entire world. She is pure sunshine: brown hair, brown eyes, and a simple, fierce love for rabbits, coloring and drawing, nuggets, and mac and cheese.
There’s this one detail I adore where Sephiroth buys Bianca a box of 288 crayons because she used to tell him in the labs how colors represented her dreams and so these crayons are the first things he buys. Bianca ends up gifting them to Lyra, passing those dreams down to her. It’s my total zero stress AU. Right now, I’m even writing a scene where Sephiroth, Genesis, and Angeal included, takes Bianca and little Lyra out for a Mother’s Day dinner. Zack hasn't been introduced in the AU, but will soon. I'll probably post more about this one in the future.
Within the actual FWC framework, the fluffiest has to be the Vanguard of Midgar (Redemption AU). It’s basically the ultimate fix-it fic where Bianca’s presence acts as a psychic shield that stops Sephiroth from ever falling into madness at Nibelheim. It’s an earned happily-ever-after where they become the world’s most powerful defectors, forming a mercenary resistance with a revived Angeal and a stabilized Genesis.
It’s the only place where everyone truly gets to be human, where Sephiroth is a father and a revolutionary rather than a god, raising the twins under the watchful eye of a rescued Lucrecia. Even if I’m writing whump for it this month, the foundation is pure found-family warmth. It’s the version of the story where the Red Thread doesn't feel like a noose, but like a safety net that caught everyone before they hit the ground. It's the AU I point at when people want a softer landing reading my stuff.
Now, for the darkest? That’s a toss-up between a few, but The Twilight of Despair is a strong contender for the most gut-wrenching. In that reflection, Asmodeus actually succeeds in breaking Bianca before the Exodus can happen.
He turns her into a hollowed-out, screaming battery for the Abyss, siphoning her celestial light until she’s just a shell. It’s a universe that is quietly, inevitably rotting away. Another heavy hitter is the Advent Children AU, where Bianca is technically there, but she’s become a monster of manipulation. She purposefully grooms the Remnants—Kadaj, Loz, and Yazoo—with a fake, performative maternal warmth just so their spirits become high-quality fuel for Sephiroth’s resurrection.
Using a child's need for a mother as a tactical harvesting strategy is probably the darkest thing I've ever put her through. It’s the one version of herself that the Prime Bianca (the one that is put together leading into the Kilonova arc) considers her greatest sin. This haunts her so badly that she uses her memories of them to produce her own shinentai (Aurora and Lucien).
But if we're talking about pure, existential dread, the Everyone Dies AU takes the cake. It’s the end of everything. Total extinction. Bianca is the last conscious spark left in a completely dead universe. I say spark, because in this AU, she doesn't even have a body.
The darkness here isn't just cruelty. It's the sheer, crushing weight of her grief as she uses the full magnitude of her powers to restart Creation from scratch because she can't stand the silence of a world without her friends and family. It’s beautiful in a tragic way, but it represents the ultimate failure of every hero and every hope, leaving Bianca to be the Primal Mother of a new world built entirely out of the atoms of her dead loved ones, including Sephiroth, Mordecai, etc. It’s the definition of a loneliness.
Fantasy Worlds Taglist: (+ / -) please let me know if you would like to be added or removed from the list by a DM or an ask.
I accidentally called you Bianca when talking about you (affectionate).
My brain is not fully functional today. 😅
So....when do I get my cool wings?
Still too early. You're just like me.
When we play games a lot, I accidently call Justin by his character name out-loud sometimes which gets me 'the look'. I recently told him to have fun training with Gen and Angeal when I was half asleep and he said goodbye, as he was on his way out going to work. Which resulted in the . . . look.
We need to get you a fresh brain, and me fresh bones since I woke up every 2 hours last night. 🤣
I did. I mostly hung out on the shoreline and, at other times, I listened to the live music that was playing. It's an 8 hour round-trip, so my body is a little beat up by being in the car for so long.
Loved the train to get to one side of the park to the other. I didn't realize I had a fear of heights until we rode the Sky Ride. lol
You'd be an awesome creative writing teacher but I would have been intimidated by you in high school unlike the teacher I did have (I called him by his first name). You'd have been Mrs. Bardic tales.
Oh, absolutely. Creative Writing was my favorite elective. We had a wonderful teacher too. Tall man, lanky, though, but man was he nice. Some of the things he taught us I still go back to. Sometimes, I hear his voice when I'm writing: like don't say a person is beautiful, how are they beautiful.
I’d like to think I’d be the kind of creative writing teacher who wears cardigans with far too much narrative authority and says things like, Interesting choice, in a way that makes students question their entire third paragraph. Very Mrs. Bardic Tales, red pen in one of those writing mugs you see advertised online. I do have a mug that says 'Don't piss the author off. She'll kill you off in her story'.
But the intimidation would be mostly theatrical. Day one I’d probably assign something unhinged like “Write a tragic backstory” and then immediately undermine my own mystique by getting too excited about a metaphor and knock over my coffee. I'm a klutz really. 😂
🍫 — Do they only take one piece of candy if the sign says “only take one”?
For Lucien Aurora or both 🥰
Wishing you a wonderful day and night, filled with calm moments and bursts of creativity. May your thoughts flow freely, and your ideas find their forms with ease.
I decided to answer this for both Aurora and Lucien, in the Redemption AU, where Shinra’s control has been escaped and Bianca Moore and Sephiroth lead The Vanguard alongside AVALANCHE to dismantle the corporation. At four years old, the twins are raised free from direct Shinra oversight but shaped by the legacy of trauma and careful guidance from their parents and allies. They live in a sleepy little village called Rinnos.
Aurora, at four, demonstrated impulsivity and a strong desire for social engagement, balanced by active instruction in manners. In a scenario with a candy sign reading “only take one,” she might recognize the rule but weigh it against her personal impulses and curiosity. Her extroverted nature made her more likely to experiment or act independently, particularly if no adult was immediately supervising. She might take more than one piece if she perceived the situation as low-risk.
Aurora’s decision-making incorporated her compassion and desire to mediate. She might take only one candy to respect the rule, especially if she thought another child or her favorite uncle would want some, reflecting her selflessness. Her ability to balance impulse with consideration meant that her behavior was context-dependent. Interactions with mentors like Angeal could reinforce compliant behavior when rules were clearly explained.
Yet, Aurora’s quiet determination and playful curiosity sometimes led her to bend minor rules in ways she judged harmless. If she deemed taking an extra piece acceptable for sharing or personal enjoyment, she might do so without guilt. This reflects her emerging autonomy and the development of her moral reasoning, which weighed intention and consequence rather than rigid obedience, as she was, most often, hanging out with Uncle Zack. Her behavior could vary between strict compliance and small, considerate deviations.
Lucien, at four years old, tended toward compliance in structured situations when prompted by authority figures. He was naturally shy and cautious, as he often looked to adults or older family members for guidance before acting. In the context of a candy display with a sign saying only take one, it is likely that Lucien would initially follow the instruction, taking only one piece, especially if an adult reinforced the rule. His tendency to observe and mirror social cues made him sensitive to explicit instructions.
Lucien’s moral framework emphasized fairness and consideration for others. He often internalized rules as a way to maintain harmony, particularly in social interactions with peers and family. Taking only one piece of candy would align with his desire not to overstep boundaries or take more than his share. His natural empathy would make him reluctant to deprive another child of candy, reinforcing compliance with the posted instruction.
However, Lucien’s shyness sometimes left him vulnerable to external influence. If Aurora suggested bending the rule, he might hesitate but could be swayed. His emotional reliance on family figures like Angeal, Genesis, Sephiroth, or Bianca means he would look for subtle cues before acting differently. Therefore, situational factors and familial guidance could override this restraint.
