Thoughout my time, I've seen a bunch of small "skrunkly" fantasy races in my time. Mammalians (goblins), reptilians (kobolds), even the ocassional amphibian and fish, but I never really see any avian ones. So I've decided to throw that hat into the ring.
I sometimes pretend I can use digital tools.
Not often enough to actually learn anything though.
Day 16- TENEBROSITY
Day 17- GUARDIANS(?) OF THE FOREST
Day 18- FAMILIAR YET UNFAMILIAR
Day 19- JUST BENEATH THE SKIN
Day 20- WOLF IN SHEEP’S CLOTHING
If you enjoyed Truthwitch or Something Strange & Deadly, then now’s your chance to check out my next, newest project, Screechers!
After all of the adults in Echo’s walled outpost are killed by monsters called screechers, Echo focuses her energy into keeping the surviving kids and teens safe. Especially Nina, her little sister. But when strange soldiers in strange caravans come and steal Nina and all the other children away, Echo must head out into the monster-infested desert to save them.
Unfortunately, there’s much more than mere monsters trying to kill Echo in this sweeping, expansive land called Shaava.
You can read the first 100 pages of Screechers on the Ampersand app. Just click here: http://bit.ly/2tzfMqs
(And note! International readers, Ampersand should be coming to you soon!)
Product illustration for Screechers Wild. They also have fun funky animation shorts on youtube.
This project paid well but is pretty unrelated to what I what I’d like to do. But I keep coming up with excuses for that. I have to work on that.
my new creature:
the screechers. crab legs, six of them. bat torso, large wings, no hands. humanoid head with giant ears, milky eyes, and lank hair. moves by screeching and scuttling/flying. capable of conversation with humans, but cannot not screech. sharp teeth, some combination of fruit and vampire bat.
If you enjoy the Witchlands books, don't forget you can read more content on the Ampersand app!
