It was like time stood still in that moment. Nothing but fear permeated your dough as you stare back at those eyes back out at sea, their owner’s giggling slowly growing louder….Seaweed Cookie next to you shares your frozen shock.
△ “Y/N Cookie, what’s…that?”
Until that giggling bursts into maniacal laughter as a sudden rush towards your home makes you snap out of your deer-in-the-headlights moment.
△ “We have to go! NOW!”
△ “Y-Y/N?!”
You took Seaweed Cookie’s hand as you both rushed out the room and towards the entrance when a sudden *CRASH!* against your home caused it to shake and rock violently, sending you and Seaweed to the ground.
△ “I KNEW you were here! You think you could just WALK AWAY FROM ME?! FROM THIS?!”
△ “How did she find me…?”
△ “Y/N Cookie, what is happening..?”
△ “It’s a long story, but what matters now is to get out of here! I’ll tell you when it’s safe!”
△ “O-ok.”
You and Seaweed get up and make your way out of the house, but Black Pearl Cookie proved relentless and kept bashing at your home as you two ran. You’d get a good fair distance away before the loud bashing stopped. You two turned back to see your home still once again…
△ “Do you think she’s left…?”
△ “I don’t know…but let’s not stick around and find out, come on.”
△ “You’re not typically the secretive sort…”
△ “I promise, I’ll tell you where it’s safe, I don’t trust this harbor is anything of that kind.”
△ “If i hadn’t known any better, I’d assume that large fish was after you…”
△ “She’s a mercookie and you’d be right…I’m who she’s after…”
△ “Oh my, my, my. Guess who finally started to crack for little old me…”
You looked around the harbor area for a moment, inspecting the waters for any activity before huddling to Seaweed.
△ “This was before you and I met. I heard the tales of the Black Pearl Islands and the Duskgloom Sea from Elder Captain Caviar Cookie, he spoke of great perils from that place. And…of a huge mercookie he encountered in that place. I was only curious if the tale was true, but when I saw her with my own eyes during one of my sailings, it’s like my thoughts took a backseat for my heart to take the wheel…”
△ “Ah, love at first sight…so sweet..and cliche…”
△ “Yeah yeah. From that point, I just wished for one chance to show her how I felt. I’ve waited weeks before the day she finally came to me…and it would be the same day that she broke my heart.”
△ “So that’s where this story takes take a sour note, hopes and dreams crushed in a instant…”
△ “I was in a funk, it was like everything that o had hoped for was just ripped out of my body and crushed on the ground. I felt aimless, afraid, having no idea where to go until Captain Caviar Cookie and his crew helped me.”
△ “The Captain, a little too loud but a respectable Cookie nonetheless. There aren’t that many Cookies up there that care for the Lower City denizens…”
△ “He told me that I shouldn’t let this stop me from trying again, there was a whole sea to explore and to not let a single rough tide turn me away…then the rest was history. Got better, moved past my heartbreak, then I met you…”
△ “Ehehe, you always know how to make our meeting sappy. To think I nearly hit you on the head with my shovel…”
△ “I guess I had that coming for popping in unannounced. I just saw that you were tending to the mud by yourself and wanted to keep you company. Then I came back the next time, and then the next, and then the next day.”
△ “Weirdo, but you were my weirdo.”
△ “Yeah…but I guess the past is not done with me yet. I don’t know why Black Pearl Cookie came back, but I know that she’s for me specifically.”
△ “She’s got another thing coming if she thinks back there is enough to scare me, I’ve seen worse while tending to the mud…”
△ “I don’t want you getting hurt because of me.”
△ “You can do better than that if you want to send me away.”
△ “Next dinner date on me?”
△ “Try again.”
△ “Hehe, I forgot how stubborn you can b-“
The sudden surge of rough waves hitting the harbor stopped you, the boardwalk shook a little as you and Seaweed kept your balance.
△ “We should get out of here first, it’s not safe. She can pop out of the water at any moment.”
△ “We need to get to the Lower City fast before she decides to sink us all…”
△ “We have to tell everyone there to be ready to get to higher ground if Black Pearl follows through on her threat.”
△ “I’m dead serious…”
Shocked at the voice behind you, you barely turned around before a large splash of water erupted from the sea and a large hand swiped you away and grabbed for Seaweed Cookie.
△ “Urgh!”
△ “Seaweed Cookie!!”
△ “You two lovebirds really took your time trying to get away, I almost felt bad surprising you like this!”
△ “Let her go, she has nothing to do between you and me!”
△ “I could do that…or I can crush her in my hand right now…”
△ “You wouldn’t dare! You know very well that any chance you have is tanked if you do something rash!”
△ “Do you really have a choice, my poor little Cookie~? I can just take you anyway after I’m done plunging this city into the abyss, hahaha!”
△ “There’s no gain from that!”
△ “It’s more of personal satisfaction for me, to show you how wrong you are to believe you could escape me! To be amongst these VERMIN and to replace me with one! ME?!”
As Black Pearl screeched the last part, her grip on Seaweed strengthened, making her yell out in pain.
△ “ARGH!”
△ “Wait stop! Please! There’s no need to hurt any Cookie! Just tell me what I need to do for you and I’ll do it!”

△ “I want you to come with me. Back to the Duskgloom Sea…”
