Growing up in the United Kingdom, Jaycee Sussex always knew that she was different from the other children. With the ability to breathe underwater and lift weights more than a normal human being is meant to. Out of all the things in life, she always had a fascination with the ocean and the sea life that inhabits the depths. Then, on a seemingly regular holiday to a beach in Cornwall, Jaycee finds what she thought was a dolphin caught in a net. Upon rescuing what looked like an animal, she had saved a merman, one that her mother, Ladonna, recognized. Darium of the Blue Whale Tribe was, in fact, Jaycee's biological father, revealing her heritage to the sirens. Darium and Ladonna couldn't be together because of the union of a human and a siren being forbidden in Siren Law, so the couple kept their relationship a secret.
Finally making sense of the strange things that she can do, Jaycee began training with her father, learning to use her powers properly. The hybrid discovers she can manipulate water to do her bidding, then realizes she could even use water vapor in the air. Jaycee found excitement for the first time in her life, using her powers to help others. Figuring the UK didn't have much need for superheroes, Jaycee travels to America to build a new life. Landing a part-time job as a Lifeguard, Jaycee sends money back to her mother for support, donning a costume and becoming "Seaworthy", fighting crime, apathetic large corporations, and corrupt televangelists.
POWERS & ABILITIES:
(art by TheKaboozle)
.Aquakenisis: Seaworthy can manipulate water with outstanding precision, altering it at will, and can even use the water vapor.
.Super Strength: In short bursts, Seaworthy can lift weights too much for the average human.
.Swift Reflexes: Seaworthy has fast reflexes, which are utilized in combat to dodge attacks. These reflexes are also useful for making quick escapes in the water.
.Great Leaps: Though her namesake relates to the sea, Seaworthy can leap buildings in a single bound. Not being able to fly, Jaycee is capable of traveling great distances with her jumps.
.Fast Swimming: Thanks to Seaworthy's heritage as a Half-Siren, she has stronger muscles like a fish, which she uses to swim. But most of Jaycee's bones are cartilage, so she's lighter-weight than most women her size.
.Underwater Breathing: As a Half-Siren, Seaworthy is able to breathe underwater. This ability is useful for Seaworthy to communicate with other Sirens or soothe sea animals in distress.
