Hello, my friends! I am in need of a Turkish speaking beta reader!
The Tinebaillese language is inspired by Turkish. It’s still a fictional people/language, so I’m not looking for full sentences or direct translations. But I would like to include Turkish words and expressions throughout, similar to the way I do the Italian words. I want to make sure I am using them respectfully and in the correct context.
If any of you speak/understand Turkish and are interested in being a beta reader for Cantata, please shoot me a DM! Having discord is also preferable, as it’s easier for me to communicate through there. Thank you!
⋟ There’s a snippet of the fanfic at the end! (PUBLISHED ON AO3)
I wanted to make a little introduction post about my OC!House/kingdom for my upcoming akotsk fanfic. This fic will be a lot longer that what I usually do, but I’m so excited to start writing. Please tell me what you think of it!
Hope this catches your interest ♡
(my OC stuff is always inspired by Caucasus culture… and i fear the pontic greek in me is to blame)
House Marath
Region: The narrow sea; north of the Step Stones
Coat of arms: Three winding black swallows over a golden patterned backdrop.
Words: ”the mountain rises beyond soil.”
Head: Lord Azzen Marath
The house Marath is a noble house, previously royal, found on the island ”kingdom” of the same name, the Island of Marath; situated in the centre of the narrow sea. They are the official rulers of Patri Sezen, the island’s capital, but in essence, they rule over the entire island. The land is known for its caging mountains, that make it naturally defensible, and their admirable naval force and cliffside artillery. Their biggest export is sheep’s wool, embroidery, and carved stonework. In the rest of the Seven Kingdoms, these native products are treasured as the height of luxury; for their remarkable quality, detail, and all in all, rareness.
Until a few generations ago, the house Marath stood among the royal dynasties of the realm. Only loosing their royal title after bending the knee to King Aegon lll Targaryen in 139 AC. The current members of the Marath family are however, still considered royals by the Marathian population.
As Baelor Targaryen puts it:
”There is still soil left on Marath that has touched the soles of their last royal family. Their noble house may have bowed before the crown, but on that island they are king, and they are treated as such; one cannot find more loyal inhabitants than the ones on Marath.” - Baelor Breakspear
Many natives believe that the house’s ancestors were made of stone and water by the mountains themselves; some folk to this day still treating the Marath family as living deities. A common interpretation of House Marath’s words claim that it echos this belief, and that the Maraths ”are the mountain” and the rest of the realm, just ”soil”.
Because of their natural defense, the island is also naturally isolated. Their cultural customs often mirroring their sense of reclusiveness toward the rest of the realm. Taking identity in family and island loyalty, proudness and superiority, as well as strength and endurance. Until recently, a high lady of Marath marrying outside of the island was unheard of; the Marath ladies were more likely to marry commoners on their island, than a king of the mainland. With the current high lord of Marath, Lord Azzen Marath, marrying off his daughter, Lady Aeyela Marath, to house Velaryon, this proud practice was forsaken. And signaled to the eager noble houses of Westeros, that the ever compelling alliance with house Marath, was suddenly made possible.
The new lord of Patri Sezen believes that the island will be swallowed by mainland politics and that they must globalise to survive. He aims to achieve this by allying with powerful mainland lords through intermarriage. However, not every high lady of Marath is keen to marry some weak, pathetic, lord and be traded off like livestock, just because she is told to. Especially not, when the lady has been raised as the heir apparent, and been expected to rule.
Enter, the Lady Monez of Marath, the mountain swallow, who will do everything in her power to be the most undesirable, improper, and rude noble lady that the Westerosi scum have ever laid eyes upon. After her father’s sudden passing, Monez was stripped of her destiny as heir to Patri Sezen, by her uncle; who took the claim for himself. And so, for all eternity, Monez has vowed to live her life as a ruthless spinster. For she is determined to keep her uncle’s biggest asset out of reach: the offer of her hand. She would succeed in her method, if only the Crown Prince Valarr Targaryen would leave her be. But alas, her untamed nature is too offensive, and intriguing, for Valarr to simply dismiss.
Story: ”A Vow Unwilling”
In which Valarr is slowly becoming smitten with her, and she acts like he’s a poisonous caterpillar.
That is, until she needs his help to prove her right of succession.

I have way more fun lore and world-building for this Island and house but I’m gonna save it for the actual story lol
Hi!! I have never done this before (certainly not on Tumblr) but I am looking for a beta reader?!
It's an original short story-- think sort of coming of age, female friendship, plus queer, plus summer camp-- it's essentially a story of two preteen girls at a sleepaway camp, it's currently about 16,000 words. It's sort of like a feel-good, friendship-y type story with some emotional themes/exploring some childhood queer feelings before you even know what is happening (all rated G stuff, very chill).
This may be the wrong site to seek this (no sex lol) but if anyone wants to, I'm looking for someone to tell me how they feel about the pacing, about the characters, the direction they feel it's going in (the ending is not written yet), and any other things that stand out to them either positive or negative. <3333
If anyone is interested DM me or comment and we can figure something out!! Thank you!!
I’m seeking thoughtful readers for my gothic vampire novel, The Dowager Prince (2026). It’s set between Soviet Russia and Spain in the 1940s—think blood wine, burning carriages, obsession, and betrayal.
✨ If you enjoy:
Gothic/dark fantasy
Complex characters
Family betrayal & power struggles
Atmospheric, historical settings
…you might enjoy reading this.
I’m mainly looking for:
What hooked you / what lost you
Which characters stood out
Any places where the story felt unclear or slow
If you’re interested, DM me and tell me a little about what you like to read. I’ll send you the first few chapters (PDF).
Thank you—it means the world to me to share this story outside my own head. 🖤

I am looking for accounts that are active so as to avoid having my works reproduced or stolen. Apparently, that's a thing.
mmmm I'm seeking a beta for a new frank langdon x mel king slow burn fic that already has a fully written first chapter. med knowledge not immediately necessary but very helpful down the line perhaps? sending out the beacon now wee woo
oops my crackfic is quickly becoming my favorite wip 😅
it’s still very much in the works atm, but would anyone be interested in beta-reading/idea-bouncing my modern EmmRook grocery store AU?
I already have one incredible beta (ily @mediocremillie99 🫶) but I’d love to have one or two more for some variety in perspective (and I feel bad bugging her all the time ik you don’t mind but I still feel bad 🥲). My own retail experience is fairly niche and limited to a few months, so not exactly a veteran lol
If you might be interested, pls send me a dm and we can yap more about it!!
I am gripping my fanfic so hard because so many things keep wanting to be different and they don't feel right and there's so many different loose concepts that don't fit right.
