Four Weddings and a Rebound. Yes, he’d heard the joke. When you’re the last of your siblings to tie the knot you’re the butt of all kinds of family quips. And it wasn’t so much that Vidcund was waiting for Ms Right, more that he was still hung up on Ms Wrong.
Is it possible to fall in love with a person’s family more than that person themselves? It certainly seemed to be the case with these two. For Vidcund, the thought of having Mortimer Goth as his father-in-law filled him with childlike glee. Talk about one-upping his ex-girlfriend. For Cassandra, fresh from heartbreak herself and fleeing bad memories for a new start at a research job in Strangetown, she couldn’t help but be fascinated by the Curious family’s thirst for knowledge.
The shy scientist who wanted to build robots and the awkward lab assistant always one step behind a promotion were bound to cross paths, especially as single parents working at the same facility. Not only were they weirdly compatible on paper, their chemistry was naturally... horrifyingly strong. Cass had never pictured herself with, well, a nerd, and yet somehow it kept happening. (Because let’s face it, Don Lothario is a massive dork at heart and we all know it.)
