Thoughts after season 2 and final season of randy cunningham: 9th grade ninja

Spoilers ahead for season 2 and the shows finale

Disney should make season 3 ASAP

imma admit, the show lost me in the first half of season 2

I felt randy hasn't really evolved from s1 at all, kind of making the same mistakes and stuff, and some of the gags were starting to get repetitive.

I took a break especially cuz i had school work i was procratinating on(still do) and especially school(i feel so dumb i feel i'll never amount to anything at all at this point) which was a really good for me when i came back and could see the show freshly.

The plot with the sorcerer's balls(the green ones, i don't know if that's what they're called in english) was something interesting to me but i felt that barely amounted to anything at the end of things cuz randy only got 1 ball, 2 at most only to lose it, then get another one, and then break it and my shitty memory can't recall it but by the end of s1 randy received a feather to write the knowledge he'd acquire but then they didn't do anything with that, I didn't really care for the evil Julian thing like randy didn't seem to care to recover the ball from him, but the finale in my opinion was really great, an amazing way to close the series! If it didn't end on a cliffhanger And with a few loose threads like the orange haired guy in a cowboy hat that always followed Randy and howard wherever they'd go, the so called knowledge randy would leave on the nomicon, or maybe the completion if his ninja training

I did a quick search on Google and appearebtly it wasn't canceled but it wasn't quite the end either, really confusing if you ask me.

That begs me the question, is there arleady content continuing where the series left of? Like how danny phantom has its graphic novels do they have comics? A game or anything? If not I will probably be happy to wait for something new to come with the fandom cuz maybe, disney isn't done with rc9gn just yet...

It sorta reminds me of how even when danny phantom ended, and people were still awaiting for the next chapter in danny's story and after a long wait it paid off, we got the first novel, we have a second, and hopefully and third and fourth on the way

So if there's anyone still waiting, do you guys have a spot in the waiting room? I'd love to stay here a little while with you guys though I won't interact much with the fandom or other stuff about the show since I'm kinda trying to keep danny phantom as my main focus

Also I wish Debbie keng(please correct me if I'm wrong) knowing Randy's identity lasted a bit longer and was shown more often (I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone pairing her up with wes weston from the dp fandom, not necessarily as a couple but as a duo of two journalists trying to unmask the heroes of their cities for one reason or another, but also kinda being good friends as well, if y'all know any fics with this premise please hit me up it'd be such a fun thing to see)

Anyways, thank you people for reading this far! I kinda liked doing this thing of watching a series then putting my thoughts here, kinda fun tbh, hope I see y'all here next time bye!

That art up there I made for this post is for an au concept I thought after my first watch through, where randy was knocked out hard on the head after one of his normal battles and ended up on the ghost zone with danny there to guide him probably to his eternal rest, but as he refuses to go with him he goes back as a half ghost half human like danny so now he has to take care of randy and keep an eye on him so now we have a grumpy teenage ghost king, tired of life itself now having to keep an eye on a dumbass so he won't cause any trouble

The ONLY 2 issues I had with Fourever You Part 2 and ArthitDaotok's story, compared to the novel....I kinda wanted to see Daotok beat up that gang, trying to save a stray cat AND the fact that he also had a few tattoos designed to represent his 2 Dads. That's more of a writing issue and....but I feel like one more ep couldn't have hurt. I know we couldn't have the full NC scene and the recovery from it, like in the book BUT, seeing Daotok kick ass and Arthit panic, along with his dad, after he got injured. I'll forgive the dyed hair color continuity issue, and the bangs being just a tad too low that we had to rely on Oat's amazing eyeball acting and missing out on the eye brows lol....but the tatts could have been such a sweet small detail.

Otherwise I thought it was very well cast, great chemistry and a story that had me obsessing each week for the next episode lol.

I've been thinking a lot about Season 2 of TLOU and how the show puts the entire weight of Joel’s death right on Ellie. And honestly, I’m not sure how I feel about it.

From episode 3 on, it feels like Ellie is the only one in the story carrying all that grief and the need for revenge by herself. She is the only one really feeling the pain that we as the audience also experience through her, while everyone else just stands around her to judge her or try to talk her out of it. ​Gail treats her like a crazy person and says she’s too far gone. Dina follows her but wants to go home once she learns what Joel did. And Jesse and Tommy spend the whole time trying to stop her. By the end, it feels like everyone suffers just because of Ellie's choices. It makes sense for her friends to worry but it makes her grief feel super lonely. It feels like the show is always trying to interrupt or fix her feelings instead of just letting her sit with them on her own terms.

​In the game, things felt a bit more balanced because Tommy actually went after Abby too, so the weight of Joel’s death wasn’t just on Ellie's shoulders. It made her drive for revenge feel more understandable and less isolating. But in the show, Tommy’s revenge story is mostly gone and Jesse is just there to be the "voice of reason" who pushes back on everything Ellie does. Since nobody is really on her side, the whole revenge arc feels a bit one-note.

​I feel for her when she says Joel was her whole community and that she had to watch him die but there isn’t enough counterbalance to fully immerse in her rage to avenge him because no one's there to actually support her. As I said, Dina DID want to help for a while but we see where her commitment ends after Ellie tells her the truth. Heck, even Abby’s side of things feels more balanced compared to Ellie's; she isn't carrying the burden alone because people like Nora and Manny actually support her, even if others like Owen and Mel struggle with it.

​I love the show but I fucking miss being able to just sit with Ellie’s anger and guilt without a filter. I miss being allowed to feel the discomfort without the show constantly trying to make me judge her. In the game, there was space to see that her choices were destructive without the story constantly using other characters to lecture her or try to pull her back.

I think it is safe to say, based on the evidence so far, that Lily is not a good person. Everything else pushed aside, she is out here training literal children to be assassins. Fadel and Bison have been assassins for years. At most, Bison especially had to have been a teen or even younger when they started. Even younger than that when their training began.

So that brings me to the people they are targeting. Yes, they all seem to be bad people. Human trafficking, drug dealing, crime lords. However, I don't believe Lily targets them because of the things they do. I think that is just the line she sells Fadel and Bison on.

So my current theory is that it's because they are compition to her own illegal deeds.

rewatched season 2 of "Andor" and holy shit I still love this show so much

the pacing of the 2nd season definitely suffers in some places since it was obviously ment to be several seasons instead of just one, but i think it still works incredibly well

Rewatching PJ series to write the final part of the Poseidon fic and I'm actually sobbing at the scene where he finally meets Poseidon. Like it's actually the most upsetting thing ever to think about how Poseidon and Sally could never be together. Like I'm happy Sally found Paul in the books but like Sally and Poseidon are my OTP, they are my ride or die. THEY DESERVED A HAPPILY EVER AFTER 😭😭😭😭😭😭
