“So,” Chaeryeong said, pretending to study the drink menu. “How’s Suwon treating you so far?” Yeji smiled like she knew exactly what Chaeryeong was doing. “Not bad. Everyone’s been really welcoming. Still feels weird, though. I keep expecting to look down and see my old colors.” Chaeryeong grinned. “You’re not the only one still adjusting. The fans are working through it too.” “Are they?” Yeji tilted her head. “Or just you?” -- OR superfan chaeryeong's favorite team trades for the player she hates most in the world: hwang yeji

Chapter 4 Preview Chaeryeong bit her lip, smiling, and let her fingers wander lower—trailing down the back of Yeji’s neck, then along the edge of her oversized sleep shirt. A bit of skin was exposed there, warm and soft. She traced it with slow, idle movements, dipping just under the fabric now and then. Yeji shivered, a small tremor running through her, and Chaeryeong could feel the faint rise and fall of her breath against her ribs. “That feels nice,” came a muffled murmur, Yeji’s voice half-buried in her chest. “Good morning, Yeji,” Chaeryeong said, her tone soft, amused. Yeji shifted, blinking blearily up at her. Her hair was sticking out in multiple directions, a cross between wavy and downright fluffy, and her lips were adorably pouty. Chaeryeong reached up, tilted her chin with one finger, and gave the gentlest tug forward. Yeji followed the cue immediately, pliant and sleepy, and kissed her.

"This war has afflicted the tribes of Pyyrhia in way no other disaster has. Every of them raked to their core fighting for the SandWings and their royal squabbles.

The MudWings are nearly extinct. The IceWings sealed themselves behind their borders. The SeaWings have all turned to high-seas crime and piracy. The NightWings are only alive because they've enslaved most of the RainWings. (I hear their labor is used for making that awful thick and oily armor they wear) The SandWings themselves are all starving. I wonder what guilt they feel for the war they started? Any at all? The princesses better be sorry at least. I'm happy one is already dead.

The SkyWings survive. Not that we dont have our own problems though. The Queen has gone absolutely mad with gladiatorial gluttony. Drunk on violence. Her generals, Sparrow, Vermillion, Bloodstone, and Peregrine have taken over in her mental absence, it seems. The rest of us train. We protect our border and fight with vicious vigor. Iron sharpens iron. Flame adds to flame. We spar to keep us in practice in the event we are attacked from a force on the outside, or within. We'll be ready nontheless. The SkyWings will not fall to this war. Not to anyone. Not even to ourselves."
