THANK YOUUUU. to make it short for this ask, Jiang is a warlord, who comes from a family clan of warlords. this takes place in a world based off Ming dynasty China. It focuses on him 20 years after he lost his loved ones, his wife Zhuli, and later on, his daughter Peiling. He feels most guilt with Peiling due to his pride blinding him from seeing the danger in letting her join a real, dangerous battle against his enemy clan. He still truly hasn't properly grieved over her.
He seeks forgiveness after all he's done.
But then word gets around that an old ally of his, Shangyen, has risen to power, and is threatening to kill Jiang and take over the province he rules in. This is where he begins to recruit new soldiers. one particular young warrior, Mingzhu, who's father was in Jiang's army, wants to part of this--but Jiang refuses, not letting females join his rank. for deep traumatic reasons that is--
Jiang must learn to overcome his past, by not only facing it, but coming out from it, healing from his traumas. he cannot do this alone.
