Tom Sturridge Has Been Let Out The Netflix Basement a.k.a We Actually Get BTS Footage Of Him lmao.
I painted this Path of Exile fanart as a present for a friend. It was also a big experiment for me, trying out a completely different painting technique. Then I ordered a fine art quality print of it on Hahnemühle Photo Rag paper and it looks gorgeous!
Starting out with a monochrome one layer painting with no outlines (the horror!) and then adding a couple of special effects layers to add colour to the scene. It's a far cry from the work process I'm used to and was a learning opportunity. I'm really proud of the result!
Meet the Lords of Fortune — Jasper!
Template
Jasper Aldwir, commonly called "Laidir", is a captain! (Not a Rook >w<) He was born in Orzammar five years after my Rook, Calico Aldwir! They both grew up and lived there until much later in life, when their friend Valta was demoted. Jasper and Calico were both part of an old family of Shapers. Their Stone sense was keen and complex, but moreover, they both shared a passion for dwarven history. For years, Calico studied ancient scrolls and lyrium runes, while Jasper worked with other dwarves to make explosives, making their way through abandoned thaigs in the hope of finding forgotten knowledge.
Going through the lyrium Memories, they often felt like parts were missing. And when Valta disappeared without a trace, they left the Shaperate. If they wanted to get their answers, they would need to find them elsewhere.
They opted for the Surface, even if it costed them their Stone sense. Calico loved the forest and flora, becoming a Veil Jumper. She wanted to study elven history, finding important connection between the ancient elven and the dwarves. Meanwhile, her younger brother fell in love with the sea, the salt and the sand. Wondering how he'd spent so long without the warmth of the sun on his skin nor the sound of the birds. He started by exploring the eastern seas, but was imprisoned by slavers. Some Lords freed him and a few of their fellow, bringing him back to Rivain coasts. He decided to join them. Over the years, mixed to his thaig spelunking experiences, he became a good tracker. He's a Saboteur (rogue), mostly using dwarven crafted explosive traps and cutlasses. He's good at sneaking around, swimming, or even replicating wild animal sounds as distraction!🤭
By Veilguard, he helps his sister Calico "Rook" Aldwir by any means possible, and eventually start a romantic relationship with Taash ♥
PS. His ship is called "The Sunken Mug Splasher" because mug splasher is the way the dwarves like to call nugs, and his ship sunked on land thrice, but he keeps repeating it. Thus three words, three times.
Beautiful boy☀️
God please let this one survive wuwa's npc treatment
DATV — Dwarven Lighthouse Decor Theme
I adore that decor, expecially mixed with all the Elven architecture of the Lighthouse (and when you know what TRULY happened to the Titans while playing a Dwarf!Rook... it feels so GOOD. Power move. "Taking back what's rightfully theirs" type of vibes).
