Small rant, not intended to start fandom drama in ANY way, but I just needed to say it: Y’know what, it’s small and it’s personal, but I have serious beef with how MC treats Mephisto. Like girl, leave that bird alone and maybe he’ll stop messing with you!

(This is also probably just because I LOVE corvids, so there’s an extra layer of irritation because HAVE YOU SEEN HIM? He’s a gorgeous bird! I would give my left pinkie nail to befriend a crow!)

Yet here she is, insulting him and trying to break him/shut him down, to the point where Sylus actively knows about it, and it’s like… yikes, this is not my hunter. And that’s not even mentioning that his owner is your love interest??? Even if I had personal issues with my partner’s pet, I’d never intentionally mistreat it. That’s breakup-worthy. Yes, he’s watching you, but that’s something you take up with the guy who sent him. Not the bird himself. Mephisto is literally just being a crow, and he’s just following orders.

I get that everyone needs to have flaws. I can overlook her awkward immature behavior, because she’s sheltered and young and naive, and I can excuse her insensitivity because she often doesn’t know what we know, but this is a little too cringeworthy.

(Seeing Sylus’s 5-star birthday card also kinda tipped me off - that man is so sweet to those he loves, and that especially includes Mephisto.)

Have I even mentioned how much I loathe the creation of “Socqueline”? Like come on, creators, you did absolutely nothing to differentiate her from Marinette aside from “main character admires this never-before-mentioned other character so much she adopted her hairstyle”. Like are you serious?

Both are Asian, both have the same hair color and STYLE, both have similar eye colors, both dress in similar styles - she even wears BLACK AND RED - the least they could do was admit publicly that they were inspired by all the “Lila’s new bestie, a fake Ladybug” fics circulating around the fandom when creating a fake ladybug. SHE’S HALF CHINESE AND HALF FRENCH. She ADMIRES ADRIEN. Like ARE YOU SERIOUS. YOU CLONED MARINETTE and called it a day.

(Also can we please have a new female character that doesn’t go googoo over this fucking boy already… like come on, even Aurore supposedly liked him (Dark Cupid). I don’t mind Zoe’s inclusion (even though she’s just a bad counterpart to Chloe and was never mentioned even in passing before she moved to Paris), and I don’t mind her crushing on Marinette. More of that, please. More new girls with bigger roles that don’t let Adrien consume 50-90% of their brain. Although Zoe, Rose, and Juleka don’t count since they’re bi/pan or lesbian. On that note, if Zoe starts to crush on Adrien I’m taking your freaking knees.)

I just LOVE… LOVE!! how Daemon finally stops lurking from the shadows and inserts himself into the alicent/nyra fight when alicent order criston to get an eyeball from one of nyra’s boys. But that’s not ALL i love.. I LOVE!!! when he goes to her after alicent cuts her hand and holds it. But not once does he look towards his DAUGHTERS!!! who this fight started with, who took punches from aemond, who are also BLOODIED, who just lost THEIR MOTHER. yet where is Daemon?

Sorry the way the writers are throwing every relationship daemon or nyra have outside of each other to the wind to make Daemyra seem destined or earth shattering is leaving a bad taste in my mouth. Don’t get me started on the butchering of THEE lady Laena Velayron.

But I tell myself that maybe it’s the times. Father’s weren’t known for looking or caring for their children. But. Even as unfit for the throne Viserys is.. he still after all he’s done shown to care for nyra. And yet Daemon can’t even show an ounce of care for his kids.. I mean what does Daemon care about? Really.. The butchering of his character is something I can talk about as well. Some other time maybe.

All in all.. HOTD writers I hope you never find the other pair to socks.
