it is so fucking sad to find a cool fanartist on here and then see that their last post was from like 2018 and they were announcing that they were moving to Twitter.

It's like being a space colonist and finding a little abandoned space cottage and there's a diary in it and the last entry is like "i have now gone to seek a better life on [name of planet that got overtaken by axe-wielding octopi that feed on human blood]"

I read somewhere abt how caleb judges/scrutinises every single one of the guys who crush on mc, but cant ever fully scrutinise zayne because he is so close to perfection it infuriates him.

but what I think infuriates him even more, is the fact that caleb himself can admit that he would trust zayne to protect mc with his entire life if anything ever happened to him. and that if mc ever did have feelings for zayne, he would root for them (even if it breaks his heart entirely).

this makes the whole incident where zayne lost control n hurt mc even more heartbreaking. because caleb felt that zayne FINALLY messed up, that he isnt perfect, and he can finally take that spot from him again (despite how imperfect caleb believes he is). caleb can finally use the situation as leverage to stop mcs attatchment to zayne, something he was insecure abt for so long.

but what's worse, is that caleb realises that he doesnt feel relieved at all - he feels betrayed.

he feels betrayed that zayne managed to mess up, because a deeper part of him really appreciated him and wanted him to continue being perfect. because caleb secretly admired zayne all these years for being something he could never be.

At first I read “as an optometrist” and was just ready to accept the statement as is like oh yeah maybe some kind of pun about if people’s views weren’t clouded by hatred and biases they could be normal about aro and aspec in general but then I reread it was like “sigh, time for my nearsighted ass to go back to the optometrist.”
