        𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙢 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚.  𝙖  𝙣𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙨𝙩’𝙨  𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚.   reggie’s  place  to  resort  when  boredom  struck  in  a  palace  too  often  empty.  parents  on a  business trip   (   as  always  )  out  living  lavishly  in  the  private  jet  instead  of  spending  time  with  their  own  son.  pity.  social  media  interested  the  mantle  prince  more  anyway,  an easy avenue for attention when he didn’t feel like asking for it.  a  platform where he got to talk aimlessly about his favorite thing:  HIMSELF.  and yeah, the fans too. his following was nothing to sneeze at,  himself ever  the  influencer in some sense on all platforms, but it wasn’t like people didn’t have anything better to do.  he opens the stream and waits for his audience to pour in, before taking questions.

      gaze  squints  at  the  small,  fast-paced  print that pops up in the comments,  asking  him  random questions until  a classmate  brings  up  what  should be a harmless game.     SMASH  OR  PASS:  RIVERDALE  HIGH EDITION.       it’s  extremely effective in garnering his attention.   ❝    𝙨𝙢𝙖𝙨𝙝 𝙤𝙧 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙨 ?  𝙖𝙡𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩, 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙚.     since  you  vultures  are dying to know who mantle the magnificent   would  spend  a  night  with  ...  shoot.  i’ll answer.   ❞    the comments start pouring in, from those with personal investment to those with genuine curiosity. some people submitting themselves, others curious about recent gossip that’d been floating around. the interest is overwhelming but more ... ego - boosting  if he was being honest.  who knew so many people wanted to know what criteria there was for getting in his smoking hot pants.  may as well give the people what they want:

           a  pause,  eyes  squinting  harder  than  they  already  have,  keeping  up  with  constant  messages  in  the  chat.   attempting to read them before they disappear.  only  to  realize  that   the  comment  section  has  turned  against  him.   horndog.  pig.   player.   the  candidates  in  question  had  joined  the  stream,  and  boy  did  they  have  some  choice  words:   ❝    hey          !  you  guys  asked,  alright,  not  my  fault  you  all  happened  to  list  the  only  fuckable  people  in  riverdale   ...   the  people  wanted  to  know,  who  am  i  to  deny  them  ...    ❞

nothing is what he wants to say. he doesn’t need anything from anyone especially not pity. which this isn’t he reminds himself, nancy is someone who cares, who is actually wanting to help. he just can’t bring himself to let her because that’s not him. people don’t take care of him, he takes care of people.

ignoring all the above... let’s talk about what really matters.... world peace! jk, no; you! oh man, lyns, I feel like I’ve exhausted all the ways I can tell you how much I love you, like over the past years, I’ve cycled through all the synonyms for love... twice!! but here I am, trying regardless. I wish I could express the depth of my admiration for you, but I can’t beyond saying that I am continously starstruck by you on the daily. 

it feels like just yesterday you were back in the sooner state, working at that diner I won’t name bc I don’t wanna doxx you but that I definitely remember the name of, and your dad was asking me where malta is and rambling all about wombats and shit, and we’d watch scooby doo together. and now you’re a full grown lay-dee, and I couldn’t be prouder!!! as much as it sucks when things change, they never really do, and that’s how our friendship has always felt: forever evolving, weathering every storm naturally and coming out stronger. 

I know these days aren’t the best for having a birthday, but I hope you can take comfort in knowing how many people love you, and just how much they do. happy birthday, my love, and here’s to a billion more years together!!
