Charlie really hated being in medical, lying around in a ton of pain, waiting to have surgery the next morning, being away from his kids, it was horrible. At first he tried to spend as much time as he could sleeping, but he could only handle so much of that and when he woke up sometime in the middle of the night, he was really only interested in getting up and walking around a little, but he wasn't sure if that was allowed and he didn't want to risk paralyzing himself. He couldn't see anyone around, so he pushed the call button they had given him and hopefully someone would come by soon.
(I rarely follow SHIELD agents, but that was 450. I'm going to hide under a rock now. After I go use the last six dollars on my Meijer gift card to buy caffeine.)
