Headcanons: Archangels, Angelic Relations & “Brothers”
My personal headcanon is that created angels are beings made of stardust, light, and the spirit of life granted to them by God. The archangels referring to one another as “brothers” is the closest wording that humans chose to use to understand angels on a more human level. It can also interpreted as “brothers in arms”, or fraternity “brothers.” Created Angels are not biologically related to each other. They literally do not function the way humans or any living animal does. Archangels are their own divine beings that transcend humanity.
With that said, I will not ship Lucid with any muses that view him as a sibling. I will not engage/pursue a ship with the archangels or Lucifer unless their mun requests it/is interested in shipping them (again as long as they are not considered siblings)
I’m only addressing Archangels and other created angels because either Lucid is or is not related to them on a familial level, it varies from rp partners and verses. Lucid is not going to be related to any Winners.
A QUICK SHIP PSA
i just need to get this off my chest, especially since this has been biting at me for days. i feel like some of y’all are gonna disagree with me but so be it. just please note: this isn’t really targeted at anything specific, just a general thing i’ve been seeing.
but like. why are we sending death threats and hatemail and general harassment over ships?
first of all, sending death threats and harassment in general is a no-no. even if the death threats aren’t targeted, it’s horrible to be saying this kind of stuff. saying things like:
“[insert ship here] SHIPPERS DIE!” or “[insert ship here] YOU’RE NOT WANTED ON THIS PLANET!”
imagine if those brackets were replaced with your ship. how would you feel?
now, you might be thinking like, “oh it’s just words-“
no.
words hurt. even over the internet to strangers you don’t know. it’s pretty shitty to do that. even if you think you’re being “funny”, you’re not.
and second of all,
YOU DON’T KNOW WHY PEOPLE SHIP WHAT THEY SHIP!
some people may have past trauma and therefore develop an attachment to that ship to comfort them. some people may just find their dynamic intriguing. some people may have completely separate reasons for shipping it!
even if the ships are deemed problematic, even if they aren’t deemed problematic, you still don’t have the right to judge others for their shipping opinions, much less harass them for it. as stated earlier, that’s pretty shitty.
i find it incredibly stupid how people think it’s okay to be so shitty to other people for such a minor thing like a ship on the internet. can we try to spread positivity and be nicer to each other, please?
anyways, that’s it for today. thanks for listening, and let’s try to be better to each other, okay?
Salty AF Mun’s PSAs
A collection of pet peeves & behaviours we hate to see in the RPC
#3: Not everything is about shipping
For a lot of people, shipping is a big part of the RP experience. We seek out to build romantic connections between our characters and other muses (in general, or looking for specific ships / characters). It’s fun, it’s fulfilling, it’s involving. It gives us a chance to gush over the relationships we build and to bring to life ship we’ll never find in canon. It’s an opportunity to explore different sort of romantic relationships and the psychology behind them, even the kinds that wouldn’t be enjoyable in real life (see toxic ships, for example)
I write this as someone who thoroughly enjoys shipping and who has had a lot of enjoyable experiences in this sense during my years of RPing.
However, it’s important to remember that not everything is about romance and shipping. There’s plenty of other sorts of relationships that can be explored and that are just as valid and interesting and they shouldn’t be neglected in favour of purely romantic ships.
On the same note, non-shippable muses shouldn’t be shunned for the mere reason that you can’t write romance with them.
This said, of course RPing is a hobby and everyone is allowed to customise their experience according to their tastes and preferences. However, our enjoyment can’t come at the expenses of someone else. Prioritising you favourite threads and ships is allowed, but not at the cost of ignoring everyone else who isn’t involved in them. Different people have different shipping habits (some don’t ship at all) and they all need to be respected. It’s extremely frustrating to see your thread being half forgotten only because it’s not a shippy one.
Remember to try and put a fair amount energy in all your threads, because your writing partners do and they are excited about the worlds you’re building together.
Having a preference, strong or exclusive, for certain kinds of threads is of course valid too. However, the fair thing to do in this case is being upfront about it, so that other people can customised their own experience and so that everyone can keep on enjoying their time in the rpc without feeling sidelined.
And with that...
Shipping is finished for the year.
The next safe day to ship via USPS will not be until Jan 3 2022.
We are still open for local pick up.
And while the USPS is swamped with Christmas packages, we will be able to meet up to four hours away from the loft.
The best travel days for me are Tuesday and Thursday.
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday cleaning days are labor intensive and take too long to include a potentially 8 hour round trip.
OOC:
I absolutely LOVE talking about ships with my mutuals, or potential new ones. However, I find that I've been having that opportunity less and less. And I'll post memes for asks, yet won't get any, even if I'm always sending them out. I won't lie, it's kind of disheartening, ya know? Especially when you see your writing partners reblog posts that say things like, "I love talking about my ships. Send me memes about them, message me at 3 am about some random stuff that has to do with our ship! SMOTHER ME WITH ALL THE SHIPPING" and things like that.
I do that, but I always end up feeling like I'm more into a ship than my partner is. If that's the case, I'd rather know because I will NEVER force a ship. And if I'm mostly coming up with ideas for the ship, it becomes less fun. We're not bouncing ideas off of each other - which is a MAJOR part of rping.
I'll also find that my partners are super excited, like me, in the beginning for a ship, then it just dissipates. I know ships die for many reasons and, often times, there's nothing that can be done. But this normally happens to me without me even knowing. Like, no communication about the ship or even an attempt to try and save it.
I'm not posting this to get anything out of it, or to put ANYONE on blast; that's something I will never do. It's more of, like, a thought that I've had recently. And I wanted to share it to see if anyone else has experienced this. I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I'm interested in seeing - or hearing - about how often this happens.
I am in no way upset with anyone that currently follow me, whether we have a thread/ship going or not. So, PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS PERSONALLY. I STILL LOVE AND APPRECIATE YOU ALL. Even though I said it's disheartening and it kinda hurts, it's mostly due to my mental illnesses and how my brain is wired to think. That's no one's problem but my own.
Again, ships die for many reasons and sometimes there is no saving them. I get it. I also won't force a ship of any kind on anyone. The point of this post is to just voice something that I've come to notice - maybe vent a little - and see how many others have had this happen to them. And to hear their experiences as well. That's all.
Love,
Mun💜💜💜
“my love will fix you” a common rp stereotype.
no. love can’t, and won’t, fix everything nor everyone. there are things that are better left unfixed, things that don’t need to be fixed. the ideal that you’ll need to lose negative parts of yourself in order to receive love, or for love to remove your character’s flaws is silly.
sometimes love won’t fix anything.
and that’s okay.
PSA: Don’t Assume Ships
Please don’t assume relationships. Assuming makes an ass out of both muns.
Would you ever go up to a random stranger and say “You are my new significant other!” and just expect them to say “Oh yeah of course!”
NO, because that’s not how it works! You have to build relationships and chemistry with characters like you do in real life. So don’t do it - out of respect to the person behind the computer screen.
Also you have the right to say no to a person and not give a reason. Especially if you’ve already made your preferences known in your rules and they failed to read them. If you feel uncomfortable just say no. NO MEANS NO.
