so when adaar tells harding that they got her mother out of danger in ferelden before the blight really hit, and that she's safe with 'some old friends' for the duration... good people of tumblr I was just hit with the incredibly funny concept that harding's ma is spending the entirety of the veilguard double blight hanging out with the valo-kas mercenary company. ma harding and shokrakar is the buddy comedy duo I didn't realize I needed until right in this moment. they butt heads to begin with but end up seeing eye to eye eventually. with the help of some crates, and creativity.

(...in fact since harding's parents have canonically amicably divorced since inquisition.......( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) hello my second nichest but also perhaps most valid dragon age pairing thus far. lace bringing taash home with her for the first time only to find her mother standing on a chair to also be passionately making out with a powerful and bluntly hilarious vashoth warrior is something that can actually be so personal.)

Shathann pushed Evataash behind her as the heavy Tal-Vashoth stepped into the road ahead of her. Kont-aar was too far behind them to be of any help. Shathann had no weapons, nor the training to use them. The fear she had lived with for weeks intensified in her chest. He took a step toward her, then stopped. Another stepped onto the path. A woman, almost as tall, not nearly as big, but clearly the leader. When this Tal-Vashoth turned to face her, Shathann’s fear switched to shock like lightning.

“Arikapp,” the name tasted false on her tongue. An impossible memory.

“I am Shokrakar now, Karislok,” Shokrakar managed to keep her voice still, commanding. It had been years. How many? A decade? Maybe more. But there was no doubt. The irony would be funny if it was not painful. She could remember begging Karislok to run. Dreams of finding a peaceful life together, beyond the Qun’s restrictions. Karislok had said no. The Qun had split them, and then Shokrakar had left entirely.

“You have become Tal-Vashoth.” Shokrakar read the insult in Karislok’s eyes, the conflict. She ignored the child Karislok hid poorly.

“I am.”

“Then come. You won’t be safe alone.”

funniest thing about adaar origin in trespasser is 1) varric has set up the valo-kas as a legitimate organization in kirkwall, 2) shokrakar is hanging out with aveline, and 3) aveline has a buzzcut in the epilogue. shokrakar shouting “GET BUTCHER GET BUTCHER GET BUTCHER” and aveline listening with her whole heart
