This is a thought that wouldn't leave me alone.

Most First Captains are older Marines, right? Like Sigismund and Khârn are both Terran.

But Sevatar? Based on when Curze was found, and the fact he canonically remembers seeing the Night Haunter's displayed victims as a child?

That makes it very likely, if not entirely certain, that he wasn't even 100 yet when he became First Captain.

My own estimate, based on what canon information we do have, is that he was 100 or so during his duel with Sigismund. Which took place on Cheraut, according to Sigismund: Eternal Crusader.

Additionally, Sevatar already has a bit of a reputation at this point. Fafnir Rann warns Sigismund about Sevatar's skills in a duel.

Which, to me, indicates Sevatar has been First Captain for a few years by this time.

This would suggest he was 80 - 90 when he became First Captain. Meaning Sevatar had 70-80 years of service when reaching his most well-known rank.

Sevatar might just hold the record for youngest First Captain ever.

I love the wild robot, but part of me wishes they didn’t turn Fink into a prominent character who was heavily involved in Roz’s life. Roz in the books needed community to help raise her kid, and Fink, just like several of the other characters, was just her friend who played a minor role. But a common interpretation seems to be that Roz, fink and brightbill’s family is very nuclear family-structured, with Roz being the mother and wife, Fink being the father and husband, and Brightbill being their adopted son.

I don’t like this take for a few reasons: Brightbill being comfortable with calling Roz “mum” tells us immediately that he accepted her (before the reveal) as his mother. Fink however doesn’t have any canon family titles, and is only referred to by name. There’s never a moment where he considers if he loves Brightbill like a son, and he never tells Roz he feels paternally for him.

Everyone’s interpretation of what a chosen/found family is is different, but the common opinion seems to be that it usually strays away from typical family structures, as well as challenging the norm that only family is blood. Roz didn’t need a husband in the books to help raise her kid, so I don’t like the implication that Fink is an older male character in her and her kid’s life and therefore should adopt the husband role. Where’s the ‘single mum who has help from the good friends in her life’ rep😭?

Those are just my thoughts lol. I personally don’t see them as platonic parents either since ‘parenthood’ isn’t mentioned anywhere in fink’s character description, but I don’t mind the hc.

I traced Elizabeth’s proportions to study it and have come to realize that she is awfully thin in Nakaba’s art… and then realized that it was because she was starving during her days of finding the sins pre-episode 1☹️

You know, with everyone attempting to theorize who'll likely to abstract, I hereby propose a possible contender for that:

KINGER.

I think Kinger will be the one to abstract, IF we're trying to theorize who'll most likely to do so. Hear me out-

Kinger's story is technically done at this point. He no longer really has a dominant character arc like the others, he's served his purpose by episode 3 and already grew as a person before Pomni was even integrated into the circus, and so he just.... does his own thing at this point on while chilling with the group's flow. for the most part.

Plus, didn't Gooseworx say that if someone abstracted in the crew, it'd be the least expected one? Since Kinger is typically goofy, it'd definitely be a shock to see him start abstracting "out of nowhere".

There's also that one throwaway line from Zooble, where they admit that they expected Kinger to abstract before Kaufmo, and all Kinger does is clasp his hand and say "thank you".

Now, as always, take this with a grain of salt, cuz this is just a theory.

YOU HOES, SHE WAS MY COMFORT CHARACTER THAT I COULD PROJECTED ON WHEN I WAS AT MY LOWEST BACK IN 2023.

She's a well written teenage girl, who gets mad at people and the things they love, because she was isolated from those people and those experiences, until she gets them by the end that she appreciates them.

She self loathes herself because of the things she did, and eventually led to her believe she would deserved it when she thinks in a situation people would kill her. Especially that she intentionally trip to make the rescue longer to her dad.

She doesn't know what she wants whether to go for solitude or companionship, since solitude is what makes her feel alone and empty but companionship can make her feel trapped and be a burden in her friendships.

In my interpretation for her trips can be reflected as a self sabotage from her opportunities, mirroring the guilt that she won't deserve those opportunities since she killed her own dad through tripping, burdening others because she needs assistance to get up in the cost of everything. Like a punishment from that childhood event.

She's so relatable, like bringing up facts about sea creatures to entertain your date even though it's boring but it's said by the book.

Also comparing herself to celebrities and how she's better than them.

I hate gary but i do love him as a character and a villain, i feel like his concept is very interesting.

On one hand he could be a boy who has such bad paranoia that he starts to blur fiction with reality. Like he’s so quick to "deal with" jimmy because in his mind he already saw jimmy undermine him (even though he did nothing wrong), and he‘s extremely insecure which is why he projects onto weaker kids like pete by calling them femme boys or whatever because he himself isn’t very strong and might have been emotional at one point.

On another hand he could just genuinely be crazy. He dressed up as an SS officer in the halloween part, and while i try not to think of him a nazi (just because so many people glaze him jesus i hope theyre not nazis) it would make a lot of sense if he was one too. He obviously wants power and he wants it over everyone as soon as possible because of his incredibly high ego and his high self image where he thinks he so much smarter than everyone else.

Or, a final characterization that i could see is hes just a little brat. He just does it cuz he thinks its funny lol

Just noticed how the 3 book protagonists of Fire Emblem Shadows so far all have the theme of hiding their true identity. Very fitting for FE shadows' themes of trust, hiding secrets, etc!

Kurt pretends to be a man to inherit the throne and remain as the kingdom's rightful heir (the patriarchy sucks)

Joachim lived in secret to avoid being targeted by Fenris due to his wolf blood

Rusty lived in hiding bc to avoid assassins who target his royal bloodline

If you want to be more specific, the secrets they keep relate to their bloodline and became an integral part of their beliefs and way of life (for better or for worse).

Kurt strives to carry the responsibility as the rightful heir to the throne (to avoid political chaos) and later takes it as her duty to take back her homeland from the Empire (who align with Fenris).

Joachim's blood makes him a bigger target for being found by Fenris and seduced into shadow (so much so that his mother even wanted to kill him as a child to avoid that fate). This, ironically, gives Joachim greater resolve to serve the light and not be defined by his blood of the wolf, especially after Estelle sunk to shadow.

Rusty had to grow up hidden away in various villages with his mother under constant threat of attack from both assassins from Notia's current royal family of who targets members of the 12 royal bloodlines and (presumably shadow) monsters. Yet, he wishes to wield the axe only his bloodline can wield to restore peace to people's lives.

Despite the struggles they face that cause them to hide in the first place, they are still good hearted people who strive to follow the light and protect their home from shadow.

While I'm here, can I say that Rusty's rapports are so goood. The shadow one especially is so interesting with its details and the script feels as fleshed out as Estelle's which makes me very nervous for what's gonna happen to him later in Book 3 (book 2 fykyk).

As I said before, I wanted to make a small analysis of Mr. Martin based on the recent episodes with some comparison to the last episodes and seasons. Spoilers ahead! So, I want to begin with the scene where the church was being destroyed, and he stayed with Ralph. Everett truly showed improvement within those moments. Let's take a look at what he did before, in s1-s2. He definitely tried to help the other ghosts, but he didn't take into account that they're also capable of helping themselves and that they could work together. This fact proves that Everett used to be pretty self-centred. Not selfish, but definitely self centered. And in his core, most of all he wanted to help himself. This doesn't make him a bad person, it's just a fact. But now? He stayed with his friend, not knowing whether he'll ever come back or not, he risked himself! This shows how much he has improved. And I'm genuinely so proud of him. Second, he overall started focusing on others as well, in a certain episode he said that he doesn't think he'll ever get his door, and that's pretty believable that he lost hope of crossing over. Yet again, he helps them. He has genuinely lost all hope for a future for himself and instead is trying to give this future he thinks he will never have to other people. Isn't that redemption? Isn't that getting better? In the end, I want to say that it's up to you to forgive him or not, because all people have a different conception of what is forgivable and redeemable and what is not, but I choose to forgive him.
