http://body-works.ca (604) 983-6616
Do you sit at a computer all day? Watch this video to show you how to feel better and be more productive - just taking a posture break every 30-60 minutes can help.
Helps alleviate neck pain, headaches, back pain and all of the other troubles that happen when we sit all day. Simple tips you can do on your own to move better and feel better!
Hi this is Dana Ranahan at Body Works Sports Physiotherapy in North Vancouver and we’re here today to talk about some posture break tips. We’ve left a tip before about seating yourself back in the chair and keeping your neck long. So some of the other things that you can do, every 30 to 60 minutes in the day, you should be taking a break. Sometimes just standing up doing a little side bend stretch, trying to open up through your waist, keeping your neck nice and long as you do that will help do it and then coming back into the chair. That’s something simple you can do. If you feel that you can’t get out of the chair, you can even do that in the chair. Take a nice deep breath in and out and stretching. So that’s a nice posture break. Try to find something you can do every 30 to 60 minutes to break your posture. Sometimes it’s just looking away from the screen will help your eyes to readjust. Side bends are a classic workout for obliques and core muscles. Using a medicine ball overhead makes the workout more challenging for maximum body muscles.

Today's fitness:
20 minute yoga sesh Blogilates Flat Belly Work Out Butt Raises (50 reps) Squats (20 reps) Side bends (100 reps) Cross Punches (for all of Timber by Ke$ha. I got into it!) Tomorrow, I plan to do another yoga sesh and focus on my back and arms. I'm finding that I enjoy planning my work outs in advance, but I also like to let myself go with the flow a bit! Today was also the first day in a long time where I actually say down and planned out my yoga practice. I forgot how much I missed it!
So today I did some side bends for the first time with 20 lb weights. My obliques are killing me already. I love it. I have very little flexibility in my sides, so hopefully this will help increase my flexibility which in turn will help my hip tosses.
Do you often feel fatigue at the back of your neck, in your spine, and sometimes find your neck or back muscles stiff? If so, then you’re probably not taking proper care of your spine. Because of hectic routines, we are often unable to undertake a full time working out routine, but that doesn’t mean that you should be neglectful of your spine. Your spine, along with your brain, comprises the Central Nervous System (CNS). It is essential that your spine is well rested and working in order for you to breeze through your day. Here are some spine stretches that you can do every day to stay healthy and fit.
