After a day like today, the thought of going home to his empty, un-inviting, un-appealing, quiet house leaves a bad taste in his mouth. He needs Eddie to hold him, a physical reassurance. He needs as much as he is needed; two haves to a whole, Buck-and-Eddie. Buck also tries not to think about how something warms in his chest at the feeling of being needed. “Sure.” Buck says, more nonchalant than he feels. “Let’s go home.” Or: Buck almost dies, like twice.
