just in time for my piece of the week that features a 3=2 rhythm - i was just playing IR1S in my head

vice versa being a sightreading player means i can read rusher notes and not memorise charts

Elegie for Actor Helmut Berger

Some say this to be Richard Wagner's last original work for piano, a very short Elegie WWV 93 perhaps from 1881. It oscillates between f and p as grief does. Sight-read it today given the circumstances.

The thing we can all take away from this video is that we cant always tease the bois about how old they are. Because I felt like a blind old woman trying to read those manuscripts. And I cANT EVEN READ SHEET MUSIC.

An ambitious morning. I have spent so much time with the Strat and the Ovation, that I have neglected my classic guitar. Viewing a few John Williams (the guitarist, not the composer) reminded me what else I’m capable of.

I’ll pull the Strat out later of course!

so i was sightreading in front of my band director today

and i got this piece that was pretty simple, and i was so sure that the tempo said allegro so i looked at it for about thirty seconds and then went on

i was probably going about 115 bpm

i thought it went pretty well and after I was done, my director says to me:

wow, that was fast.

and i said:

yeah?

she said:

look at the tempo.
