A very late litha witches diary!

Hello my witches and other magical beings! How are we all doing?

Between lots of studying and a visit from my nibling, I completely to forgot to post what I did for litha. But time is an illusion and so I will do it now :)

The Friday before Litha I made myself a flower crown out of all my plants and already blooming flowers. So of course I wore it on Saturday. Since most of my free time is still focused on studying, I just wore my crown while learning.

But I started the day with music and tea and a little fae offering. I put honey and flowers and nurs into an empty cleaned out eggshell, since I placed them at a public place this time. Dressed in flowy clothes I went out into the pouring rain.

I placed it in between a public flower field, that Is always so beautiful and full of love that there has to be magic involved.

After that I went to buy groceries and studied afterwards for a couple hours. When I was done I put on some witchy make up and went out to another public place that is blooming like crazy this year. Usually public events are held there but with the Rona going on, it’s free to be a beautiful flower.

So I took a walk and picked myself some flowers. (In the end I was allergic to them and they triggered my asthma. My mom got them)

Back at home I danced and I ate and I watched TV before taking a ritual bath like always. And I lit my beautiful diy sabbath candle

The next day I baked some litha honey cakes and Spendt some amazing time with my bro, my sis in law and their child.

And as always: my altar

This time i placed it at my window, between my plants, because it felt right to do so. It was focused on the sun and one of my favorite colors: yellow. A couple days before I DIY-Ed the sun symbols out of salt dough. Usually I hate DIY-ing and I’m not very good at it. But something about the sabbaths just makes me… not care. I love having things for my atlar and I love doing them myself and pouring my engere in it.

So that was my third sabbath celebrated during corona and I gotta say, I’m getting used to it. It’s still fine and I mostly have very nice days.

Protection bottle

Used

Black wax

I only had tiny bottles so it wasn’t much

I took and made the sigil on a small piece of paper and wrote the meaning on the back,

Rolled it up and passed it over my altar flame several times careful not to burn it.

Then I stuffed in the herbs and black salt (black salt is ash and salt from a separate ritual, meant to invoke the protection of your ansestors)

Last came the garnet shards

I sealed the bottle with the cork tied a long chord of black thread to the neck and sealed it all with black wax

Please exercise caution when working with flame and try to not hurt yourself.

This bottle is made to protect whom ever holds it.

I’m gifting it to my boyfriend in hopes he’ll be safe while I’m gone and that nothing bad will happen

Protection Against Negative Energy

This spell requires a knowledge of protection magic and involves burning objects. Please be careful when using matches or lighters.

Title:   Protection to Deflect Negative Energy

 Purpose: Protecting yourself against someone who seeks to cause you harm emotionally/mentally

Difficulty: Intermediate

What You’ll Need: A Sigil of protection. Can be one provided for you, or one you’ve drawn yourself.

A piece of paper, or a cardboard tag for writing the spell on

. A pen or pencil

Water for anointing yourself (Charged via your favorite method. Storm Water, Sun Water)

A cauldron for burning  the spell in.

The person’s name or nickname

. Optional: Rose Quartz and Amethyst to be held in your pockets or worn on your person during the casting.

What You’ll Do: Cast your circle of protection and center yourself.

You will write out the spell now which is:

The Web Will Unwind

The Mask Will Crack

The Truth Set Free

Three Times Three so it will Be.

On the four corners of the paper, you will also write the person’s name. On the back of the paper, you will write your sigil of protection for yourself.

Anoint yourself with the water by drawing your sigil on your forehead as well as your hands.

If you have Rose Quartz and Amethyst place them in your pockets, or wear them as jewelry. This is just extra protection.

Now, you will begin to chant the spell three times. Then three times as you ignite the paper and three times more while it burns in your cauldron.

You will also while it burns say the person’s name three times.

Once the spell has been fully burned, finish sending your intent out into the universe by disposing of the ashes. I personally throw them after they’ve finished cooling into our yard but you can also wash it away when you wash your cauldron.

Once it’s released, take a deep breath. The spell has now been cast.

More Information: For this particular spell, I also did a few extra steps such as drawing out my circle while I cast with my anthame but that is optional to you. Your intent is the most powerful too, everything else is an extension of yourself. I also used the spell out loud while I blocked the person on social media as well.

Ostara’s lucky eggs

Hey witches! Tori here! I hope you are doing fine! 

Ostara is right here so I’ve spent my Saturday making those lucky eggs to celebrate! I liked making them so much and people think they are very pretty so I decided I’d share a few tips with you!

They are really nice to decorate an altar or to give as an offering, or you can keep them with you for luck. Eggs are one of the main symbols of Ostara, as they symbolise birth, creation, fertility, and in a larger way, spring. The colors used can serve a certain intent through correspondence and you can paint sigils for a particular wish or will you need help with.

To make them, you will need : 

Eggs (obviously)

Paper towels or any similar kind of paper

Paint (if you’re going to bury the eggs as offerings, you want to make sure it’s eco-friendly)

Two brushes, a large one and a thinner one

Water

Herbs according to your intent (optional)

A small treat, like chocolate or candy (optional)

Here are the steps. Of course, you can modulate as you see fit : 

Empty your eggs by piercing a hole on each side and blowing through one to make the white and yolk fall from the other. You can use a needle to pierce, and then gently widen the hole with a pointy knife. If you want a full lucky egg, make sure to crack an opening in the shell so that you can put things inside, but keep the two pieces of the shell as you’ll have to glue them back together.

Clean the inside of the shell with water and dry it by blowing inside again. For a full lucky egg, you want it nice and dry so maybe leave it to fully dry for a few hours before painting it.

Optional step for the full lucky egg : fill the egg shell with herbs according to your intent. If you need extra luck, for example, add some mint. If you want the egg to help you be calm and open, add some lavender. If you need luck in your love life, add rose petals. The only limits are your own correspondences and the size of the egg. You can also add a small treat in the egg, as an extra offering.

Now we’re going to start to paint. If you’ve filled it, put the second piece of eggshell over the opening so that it fits.

Rip the paper towels into little pieces.

Gently place a piece on the shell and use your larger brush to dampen it with a mix of paint and water. The water will make it stick to the shell like glue and the paint with give it a nice color. The effect is best with pastel and light colors, because it allows for later touches to be more visible. 

Personal tip : you can use colorful or patterned paper tissues for a different effect! When doing this, just dab water or liquid glue over it.

Keep placing paper pieces until the egg is fully covered and has an even color. Leave it to dry for a little while.

When the egg is dry, paint a sigil you like on one side, and decorate the other side with a pattern - or leave it blank, it’s up to you! And leave it to dry again for a little while more. 

Voilà! You’ve got yourself a pretty lucky egg! Charge the sigil however you like, just mind what you put inside, and remember paper is fragile, so water or fire might not be the best idea if you want to keep your egg for a while.

Things to do with your lucky eggs : 

Make them with your friends, your family, your kids. They are easy and fun to make and can really bring out someone’s inner artist!

Put them on your altar or use them to decorate, they are perfectly Ostara-themed, and if you are christian people will simply assume you are celebrating Easter early.

Use them as offerings, for a deity, a spirit, your favorite plant or the fae hanging around in your garden. Again, just make sure everything you used is eco-friendly if you are going to bury them. They make cute presents too!

Keep them with you for luck. For example, I have my finals coming up and I’ll need so luck and help with my studies. I can make a lucky egg with the intent “I will pass my classes” and keep it with me like some sort of amulet.

A fun thing to do : put a safety wrapped treat in the egg, one that won’t go bad. After the intent is completed (in my example, after I finished my finals), break the egg and eat the treat that has been charged with the same energy as the sigil. The result will be stronger.

Omg what is going on in my flat?

I have two light bulbes in my lamp and one was out of order for weeks or probably even months.

And now I was just sitting around - and the broken bulb turned ON AGAIN. It was literally…. Magical?

And now I have 5 candles burning (a spell, a jinx, a tall white one, an orange one and a yellow one). They all stand next to each other and the yellow one is going absolutely nuts.

What is going ON? It’s this Litha magick? I’m getting anxious but I feel like it’s good things happening. Something is obviously trying to contact me but I can’t tell what or why!
