Witches diaries - quarantine Beltane edition
(CN: very brief mention of solo sexual activities)
Itttts the second sabbath I celebrated in quarantine. While I was quite depressed at Ostara I somehow had the time of my life celebrating Beltane. Even tho I was so sad a week ago. While I usually practice and celebrate alone I a) like combining the sabbaths with a nice bar visit and b) i thought Beltane would be perfect to connect with other witches and pagans in my area. Back in damn February I googled what events i could attend.
But well, life went differently and so my plans changed accordindly.
I started with sleeping in (since May 1st a holiday in good old Germany) and started the day with some nice eggs and a cup of loose wild blackberry tea (I’ve got it from a subscription box called witches casket). After that… I had to learn. Not hard stuff, but just lots about how to manage your workers and stuff.
After that I… cleaned my flat and kitchen. Grown up stuff, ya know? But then the celebration finally started! I lit some candles and diy-ed a tiny little maypole, as well as prepare my fae offering.
I gave it and then a nice salt-honey-showergel cleanse and a ritual bath with a nice rose bathbomb, some lavender and dried flowers. And of course high intensity witchy music. At that point I lit a candle that burned the whole evening and followed me through my flat around. That just felt nice :)
After that it was time for dinner and step 1 of making lavender lemonade. Then I ate my spaghetti. Yummy.
Then I did my witchy make up and hair and outfit! It felt so good! I didn’t make myself up like that since the beginning of March when i went to a Alice Cooper concert.
Now it was time to finish that lemonade and DAMN it was good! I mixed it with a strong white wine and it was finally time to really start this parttyyyyy. I lit lots and candles, turned up the music and… danced! And danced and danced and danced! (Until my asthma acted up lol)
A quick reading of my tarot cards and more booze and alcohol. (And a little sexy time but I will not talk more about it lol)
Now it’s the next day, I’m tired, my arms and my legs hurt and my flat is chaos. And I feel so great and full of energy. I still have my music turned up and just start dancing despite the pain! I haven’t felt this good since… at least the start of this quarantine! Wuhu!
And now of course, as always, my altar:
I think it turned out nice! Especially for the fact that it’s completely made out of things I had at home. Once again a tiny maypole, red and white candles and a flower crown I made last year. And… as a little sexual joke I put a condom and a necklace formed as vulva on it. (I got it from an amazing Berlin based artist. She is very outspoken about trans rights as well). I also put on sun and moon water. (Oh and a baby picture of my new family member. It’s the white square)
And… yeah. That was my amazing lonely Beltane! I hope yours was nice as well. Reach out to me if you want to talk or anything!
