My personnal take on the UrSkek world :
An authoritarian dictatorship with very "smile and wave" rules and strict laws not consisting in death penalty but banishments for centuries as a loneliness lesson because "you were very naughty" or for the more serious crimes jail ; mental illnesses are not treated either and if you can't fit the "perfectly wise and good" society you were seen as much as a trouble maker. Since their species members remain young and live forever unless killed, the species just grows, grows and grows so they also have a colonization politic, sending their banished criminals to unknown "primitive" planets as a "you test if it's safe to be there" thing (Raunip in a way was right to be suspicious. But with all that shit the UrSkeks we know won't be back like "LOOK WE WERE 18 NOW 8. NOT SAFE NOT SAFE" ; half lie since it's also because they grew attached to it and wouldn't want it colonized)
The 18 UrSkeks we know were banished for diverse reasons, some we would find "rightful", others we would find unfair. Their white robes we see them wear are actually the prisonner clothes, they had to wear them when banished and wear them again when going home in the end of their banishment (which never happened until the end of the movie). They were :
SoSu the Chancellor. No exception for high politicians like him (like even the leaders would be banished if they showed any flaw), his violent case of bipolarity making him act at times very wisely and sweetly and at times very mean and violently was enough of a reason for them to send him away when his spouse, who got scared for their son but mainly saw it as an excuse to get rid of him, denounced him. Being the only politician of the banished bunch, that's why he took initiative at being the team leader once on Thra
VarMa the Mediator. His job among the UrSkek equivalent of the police was to nagociate with people such as hostage holders or suicide attempters to talk them out of it. One day, sadly, he failed and all the building was blown up. Enough for the authoritarian laws to put the blame on him for not having tried enough, so he would get banished
ZokZah the Priest. Again, not even a high spiritual figure like him was above the repressive laws. He was engaged to a rich family, but since it was an arranged marriage like half of marriages among the UrSkeks, he was not interested, he always had just quick flings and didn't entend to stop. Sadly for him, he was caught by his fiancée in bed with another. Adultery even before marriage was enough to be banished
UngIm the Physician. He was the true cliché of the hot and charismatic, rich and popular ripped surgeon we see in movies. But despite his success, and as much as he was talented with a good reputation (even able to resurrect the dead if they had died less than 30 minutes ago, which is a rare gift !), no one is about mistakes, and in that society it generally is not forgiven. After millenia of no mistake, he one day accidentally blinded his patient's eye when trying to fix his infection. Sadly for him, he was a Senator...
SilSol the Musician. He was very popular for casual parties and formal celebrations alike, with his beautiful singing voice, his gift at playing any kind of instrument and his sensual dance moves. Sadly for him, he was also very curious and liked secrets. And after having gotten enough drunk spilled a politician's embarrassing childhood secret that sure didn't have the politician banned because laws estimated he was too young at the time, but the politician did everything to frame SilSol accusing him of having spied on him. Which had HIM banished
TekTih the Savant. He both did science and chemistry as his job, with official searches paid by the state, and also at university. Sadly he decided to go too far with a chemical experiment in college, and BOOM, accidental explosion of the building. Whether be it accidental or on purpose, bombings are punished by banishment
GraGoh the Explorer. He was sent to several worlds to explore and tell what there was. He was on Thra before everyone. He also sees if protected natural places still are in the homeworld. Sadly for him, he suffered from a double personality. Sometimes he felt like GraGoh, other times GohGra. He wasn't dangerous but acted veru differently, going from very calm and introvert to very sanguine and extrovert, not remembering what the other half did each time. Got him banished when found out
MalVa the Poacher. Always lived thanks to aj illegal business, it was a matter of time for him to be caught poaching undangered animals. He had been caught by GraGoh who in return got caught of his double personality at that moment. Payback. The travel to Thra was very awkward
SaSan the Pirate. Much like MalVa, she too lived the crime life. In her case not to animals but other UrSkeks, sailing and attacking ships and taking hostages and stealing treasures. She was fierce and feared but never did anything for money. Only because she was a single mother of a daughter and wanted to be sure to give her a good future. But she was one day caught and banished to Thra. Apart from her daughter forever, which is why UrSan loves and tends to kidnap children and SkekSa copes by patronning Gelflings (HC TOTALLY TAKEN FROM @silverstrike BECAUSE I LOVE ITS TRAGEDY)
LiLii the Humorist. He was very popular and was known and both loved and hated for his satire. Maibly hated by the upper class he always made fun of. One day a sketch during a one man show went too far in his mockery against the leaders. They didn't like this at all. This was enough to be seen as anarchy and have him sent to the banishment department
LachSen the Collectionner. Her favorite hobby was collecting anything and everything, her house looked like a treasure room. Sadly for her, she one day found a very pretty gem she kept in her collection. She had no idea it was part of a thief's loot that had lost it when running away. One day she invited people over and it happened they were the owner of the gem. They immediatly concluded she was the thief...
ShodYod the Accountant. He lived a very, very boring life made only of money he couldn't touch and mathematics in a bank. Everyday was the same. Until one day he tried to be a bit more adventurous. Someone gave him a backhander not to take account of tye doubtful origins of his money. For a moment nothing changed except this EXTRA thrill... until his boss found out a few trines later
EktUtt the Designer. He/she was known for making the most beautiful clothes and decorations in his/her town. He/she got orders from all around the homeworld. But one day, he got a particular order : make a dress with some animal hide. A protected animal. But he didn't care, he didn't like animals anyway. Which he did. Oof, just when visitted by a ranger who came to take his own order and saw the project he was working on. To thra it was
AyukAmaj the Gourmet. He loved his job more than anyone, and held a prestigious restaurant in his town. He had a whole staff to cook for politicians and celebrities. However one of the staff members was an anarchist. One day, a senator was welcomed like a God as usual, and served his favorite meal... and died from poisining. The cook was thrown in jail, and AyukAmaj was seen as responsible and not having watched what he did enough. He was thus punished he too...
NaNol the Botanist. Even though he was an expert in plants and vegetations knowing how to make potions, andidotes, perfumes etc, he wasn't a fan of flowers. In fact, he preferred fighting, laughing and getting drunk at parties, often ending up trashed for his work. However one night he ended up so trashed he woke up in bed. In the bed of a judge's son. The judge didn't like his unmarried son to bed with some older stranger at all even if that stranger had 0 memory. Ever since he never party'd as hard
OkAc the Archivist. He wass in charge of all the history and information and news in the UrSkek world, archiving them and finding the ones needed for cases and others. However, like all Archivists, he didn't have access to other sources than the National Library. But his curiosity was so much... he went around in his own invistigation and found trines later there used to be a time where there was no authoritarian regime. But he was less discrete than he thought... He knew too much and could make the others think, he had to leave
Since we know nothing about YiYa and HakHom yet (SINCE SKEKYI AND SKEKHAK MIGHT APPEAR OR AT LEAST BE REFERENCED TO IN AOR AS MAYBE THE MERCHANT AND THE STEWARD), I can't write anything about them yet
