3. Least favorite part of writing.Not being able to plot everything out in advance. I want to do that, I crave being able to organize my thoughts before I ever start, but I never can and so I sort of wing it as I go and that can lead to frustrations when I hit a block or a section I’m unsure of. I’ve also written myself into corners a few times and that’s not fun.

22. How many drafts do you need until you’re satisfied and a project is ultimately done for you?I usually do about three drafts of the same chapter before I’ll post it. A rough draft that makes me wonder if I even know english. A second draft where I rearrange the words and reformat sentences, and a third draft where I try to remove spelling errors left over.

31. Hardest character to write.Kids. I have a hard time writing Sophia any time I put her in a story which is why I haven’t done much of that. It feels like there’s a fine line between making them too cute or too adult and I never know if I get that right.

44. Best piece of feedback you’ve ever gotten.Oh man, this is a rough question. I appreciate any and all feedback from the emoji only or one word comment, to the detailed paragraphs. They all make me smile. I do enjoy it when someone lets me know certain portions or lines they liked the most, or if a certain something in the fic made them feeeeeel specific emotions. Which I realize doesn’t actually answer the question here, but I tried ;)

Do you know any fics that has Caryl/pregnancy/baby in it and would link them. I need to read some. Pregnant Carol and Baby Daddy Daryl is everything!!!

Ohh I love getting these asks. Putting all my hours of reading Caryl fan fic to good work. Honestly though baby fics are probably my least read type of fan fics. I won’t avoid them but usually I don’t go out of my way to read them either.

As Dixons Do by ramblinrose (@spanishrose2002) - For whatever reason I never got around to finishing this one (although I’ve just read four chapters again already) but this includes parent Caryl and pregnant Carol. Heavy doses of Merle and Andrea too. Lots of family drama included (on Merle’s side). I liked this one a lot.

a curious speck by lilabut - This one gives an inside view to the first 12 months after having their baby (Sophia is in this one too). It’s just the right of angst mixed with some fluff a good dosage of smut all with some cute family time moments.

illuminate the heart by lilabut ( @singingfirefliess ) - I’ll admit I haven’t read this one before but knowing the author’s writing skills it’s definitely one to read. This is accidental pregnancy story, so it’ll focus on Carol and Daryl’s relationship throughout her pregnancy. In fact to add to this lilabut does a lot of fics with babies and children. I highly recommend them all, she’s a wonderful writer.

Fear and Faith by Noxid Anamchara - This one has some lovely and angsty flashbacks of before the baby was born and some fluffy as fuck moments after.

17) Post a line from a WIP that you’re working on.

They don’t put men and women together. It’s policy. Some cobbled together nonsense they managed to write before the disaster struck.

With the vast majority of the population gone the last thing they want is for the unremarkable ones left to start breeding. She only got lucky that his original partner succumbed to the fallout before he could get to the bunker. Even thinking that feels wrong, there is nothing lucky about another person meeting their death, and yet it’s given her a chance at life. Tucked away down here with this man she doesn’t know while they keep a bunch of very important people alive in their cryo chambers until the dust settles.

She hopes he’s nice. Hopes he’s sane. Wouldn’t say no to the only person she’ll get to speak to for the next two dozen years having a sense of humor, either.

Maybe none of that matters, though, because they’ll only have to see each other for an hour every six months.

Nothing much can happen in an hour. Nothing much at all.

(okay, that’s more than a line but I couldn’t stop it sooner, I fail)

20) Are there any stories that you wished you’d ended differently?

Hmm, not really. I usually feel pretty good about my endings since I often know how I want to end a story before I begin it. I do have my moments, though, where I wonder if ending everything on a happy note is taking the easy way out, if maybe I should sprinkle in a little angst every now and then, but ultimately I prefer a happy or hopeful ending, it’s what I want to read when I settle in with a fic and so it’s what I write, too.

33) What’s the biggest compliment you’ve gotten?

I think my favorite is when someone tells me that I get the characterization right and that they can picture the scene happening as if it were on the show. Especially if they’re talking about Daryl because his character has been so all over the place on the show that he can be tough to nail down sometimes. If I can manage to harness even a little bit of him that feels authentic to the reader, then I feel pretty darn good.

48) What’s your favourite trope to write?

Hurt/Comfort with a side of bed sharing and nightmares :P  Can that be its own trope? All of that combined? I need rehab for it.

And for your last very important question, funny you should ask, but I have been considering adding some dinos into my fics. Are you a mind reader? Weird that you’d ask that right when I’m pondering it. Hmmm. Every fic is better with a T-rex in it.

not so much!! there's like 2 jumpscares in the whole season and a monster, but it feels fake so it's fine and scary to watch

I’m a real chicken and NEVER watch horror movies, and I really enjoyed the show. It’s more mystery than horror. The monster does look scary and there are a (very) few jumpscares. But it wasn’t too much for me to handle. It’s a great show :)

not at all! i had thesame problem, i’m a cry baby who hates horror, but i watched and i wasn’t scared not even once! lol. it’s worth giving it a try :)
