The Flash: Fury Rogue: Reaction (Spoilers)

This rogue is one of honor.

Hello again Mr. Leo Snart! With Ralph gone seeing a familiar face is the pick-me-up I needed, especially one that’s helping Barry cope with his loss. Him knowing the exact number of people he’s lost, especially those under his watch, is rather heartbreaking. Yet, he does what he can. Mourn, grieve, then refuse to let the loss overpower him and mean nothing. From his first scene, it seems like all that death meant something since the Regime was nearly wiped out save for Siren-X. Plus he’s got a wedding to look forward to! May him and Ray have much happiness! Also, we finally got an answer regarding why Ralph wasn’t part of the Earth-X battles: he wasn’t ready hero-wise. He still could’ve gotten a wedding invite.

Regarding Ralph, I know I was holding out hope he may still live, but with all this talk of grief during the episode, that’s pretty much the writers’ way of saying he’s gone. Well, I can accept that. He was a good man and if his loss is to mean anything, then let it fuel the team’s desire to stop DeVoe.

Just when I think I can’t dislike DeVoe anymore, he always manages to find a new way to prove me wrong. Though Marlize is aiding him in his supervillian ways, not even she deserves to be told that she is not allowed to think. We’ve seen DeVoe be abusive and controlling towards his wife but now she’s really starting to see the man he’s become. As long as she stays away from Weeper Tears she may be a factor in taking him down.

We also learn that DeVoe does not take human emotion or inaction into account in his plans. While I’m on the fence that he could plan on interdimensional visitors, all his plans assume Flash and allies will act. I’m reminded of when he attacked Barry before the framed murder and he was hit by his own attack when Barry phased rather than move out of the way. The same happened because Barry froze out of remembrance of Ralph and DeVoe was hit by Siren-X’s attack. Plus his disregard to Marlize’s romantic advances only serve to damage their relationship. For someone as smart as he, he’s pretty much starting to dig his own grave.

Wissenswertes:

Ich schrieb “Crisis on Earth-X” lange bevor Siren-X im “Flash” vorkam und baute meine Erde-X-Version von Laurel in diese Fic ein. Damit hatte ich ein Problem. Ich hätte natürlich einfach sagen können, dass Leo irgendeinen anderen Meta des Regimes gejagt hat, als Barry ihn holen kam, oder dass er gerade beim Frühstück mit Ray saß, doch stattdessen dachte ihr mir: Aber wer könnte dann die Siren-X in meinem Verse sein. Und ich hatte all die Backstory von Laurel-X und damit eine klare Antwort: Dinah Lance.

Dinah war immer eine Anhängerin der Partei und von Oliver im Speziellen. Der Tod ihrer Tochter und ihres Führers würde sie dazu bringen etwas unternehmen zu wollen. Rache nehmen zu wollen.

Als Alpha wurde sie als minderwertig angesehen, vieles war ihr nicht erlaubt, und obwohl sie sich an die meisten Regeln der Partei hielt, war sie nie damit zufrieden, dass sie eben nicht für ihre Ideale kämpfen durfte. Ihre Tochter gehörte eine Generation an, der dies erlaubt war, sie jedoch war zu alt. Durch ihre Meta-Kräfte war sie endlich in der Lage zu kämpfen und damit fand sie endlich einen Weg ihrer Sache so zu dienen, wie sie es sich immer gewünscht hatte.

Ich machte sie zur Verbündeten von Prometheus-X und hatte dann das Gleiche Problem wie mit Dr. Snow. Sie musste vor “Finale Crisis” weg von Erde-1, aber nicht bevor sie Black Siren ein wenig bearbeiten konnte.

Finder ihr nicht auch, dass Siren-X die coolsten Schallkräfte von allen hat?

Auf jeden Fall denke ich, dass sie es nicht ausgehalten hat auf Erde-X eingesperrt zu sein und sich in Gefangenschaft das Leben genommen hat.

I love (and hate) that whenever Black Siren/Siren-X appears on The Flash, she’s actually powerful and a threat compared to when she’s on Arrow.

Catching up on The Flash, and DID NOT expect to see another Siren. Like whoa. I really love how she used her powers in this episode, and that each one is different from the others. It continues to show that Katie Cassidy is so much better when she’s a villain.
