Chuuya has acquired a large amount of secret admirers during soukoku's two years at the Agency. This becomes a problem when they start sending Valentines gifts directly to office. Making his secret boyfriend, Dazai, jealous.

- Story -

"Remember Dazai, you get to eat that chocolate too when you're older."

Was all Dazai heard when he was growing up. Now that he is 22, old enough to drink, smoke, buy alcohol and fireworks, he was surely old enough to eat this damn chocolate he was promised.

He was glaring at Mori who was doing paperwork.

"Yes Dazai?" Mori asked without looking up from his paperwork.

"Now?" Dazai asked.

"I'm busy, Dazai."

Dazai grumbles and kicks the floor and walks away.

Moments later, Dazai didn't know what he was doing, but he was doing something when Mori opened the door to his room.

"Dazai," Mori said calmly.

"Yea?" Dazai looks up at Mori.

"It's time -" before Mori could finish his sentence Dazai was already up and at Mori's side.

"Okay then..." Mori shook his head with a sigh.

They then walked to Mori's office together.

"Alright, listen Dazai, this chocolate you see here will turn into the favorite chocolate of your soulmate," Mori explains before handing Dazai the chocolate.

Once Dazai nodded, Mori handed him a piece of the chocolate.

Once Dazai took a bite of the chocolate was a different story.

His face scrunched up.

"Who the hell likes dark chocolate?!" Dazai whined

"Dark chocolate has many possibilities to taste good," Mori explained.

Dazai blinked for a moment then at the piece of chocolate.

"My soulmate still has bad taste," Dazai said.

Mori only shook his head in exasperation.

The next day at the college campus, Dazai was just grumbling about how his soulmate likes dark chocolate.

Oda and Ango looked at Dazai with confusion then at each other.

Dazai looks at them and groans.

"They like dark chocolate; nobody likes dark chocolate!" Dazai grumbles.

"I like dark chocolate..." Ango points at himself.

"You don't count, it's not your favorite," Dazai dismisses Ango with a wave.

Ango pointed a finger and opened his mouth to say something but then he realized that Dazai knows his favorite chocolate.

"How do you know it's not my favorite?" Ango questions.

"Oda."

Ango looks up at Oda and Oda shrugs. Ango sighs.

"Anyways, is there other ways to find my soulmate than that fuck ass chocolate?" Dazai questions with a huff.

Oda tapped his chin then snapped his finger.

"Put one finger in your nose and do the chicken dance," Oda said seriously and jabbing Ango in the side with his elbow when Ango snickers.

"Put one finger on my nose and do the chicken dance...?" Dazai narrowed his eyes.

"Yep," Oda nodded.

Dazai crossed his arms.

"Are you sure this will help me?" Dazai grumbled.

"Positive."

"Why is Ango snickering?"

"Ango doesn't know what he's doing."

Dazai sighed and rubbed his face.

"Are you sure this will help me?" Dazai asked once more.

"Would I ever let you down?" Oda asked.

Dazai raised an eyebrow.

"I'm talking about this universe, idiot," Oda shook his head.

"Not intentionally?"

"Good. Now you know."

Dazai sighed and put one finger on his nose and did the chicken dance.

Ango laughed and aside from Ango not really anyone else except...

"Oi mackerel! The fuck you doing?" A familiar voice asked, snickering.

Chuuya.

Dazai stopped immediately. He was embarrassed and glared at Oda.

"Oh I forgot, sorry man..." Oda raised his hands up in surrender.

"A dare," Dazai replied to Chuuya.

Chuuya laughs more.

"You looked stupid. It's time for class anyways."

Chuuya walked away to God knows where, probably the only class he's willing to be on time to.

Dazai looked at Oda with a look of betrayal.

"Before you hit me, besides Ango and Chuuya who all stopped to laugh at you?" Oda asked.

Dazai thought about it.

"No one else.."

"Exactly!"

Dazai sighed rubbing the bridge of his nose shaking his head.

"How is that supposed to help me?"

"You'll figure it out eventually," Oda smiles and pats the back of Dazai's shoulder.

Dazai sighs and shakes his head.

Once they were at lunch, Dazai was walking with a bento box with Oda and Ango to their lunch table. He looked up for a moment and saw Chuuya with his friends, Akutagawa, Gin, Tachihara, and Higuchi. Chuuya and the others looked like they were playing truth or dare.

Then it happened, Chuuya had to stand up and do the most ridiculous dance Dazai had ever seen. No one at Chuuya's table was laughing - not really. They all had amused expressions, Ryuunosuke looked embarrassed for Chuuya. Dazai was the only one who had burst out into laughter.

Chuuya's face went red and he sat back down.

Dazai was dragged away with Ango and Oda before he could even comment.

After a long time, because this is Dazai and Chuuya we're talking about, they realized that they were each other's soulmates and got together.

Currently, they were on a date eating a plethora of chocolate.

Chuuya grabbed a piece of dark chocolate and scooped up some peanut butter.

"So I told you when I realized I loved you, that stupid dance you did when we were at lunch that one time," Dazai started watching chuuya eating the combo. "When did you realize that you loved me?"

"Before then the same day when you did that chicken dance with a finger on your nose," Chuuya laughed.

Dazai playfully punched Chuuya in the shoulder.

"You're such an asshole," Dazai said despite not having a real problem with Chuuya's words.

"You love me," Chuuya laughs.

"That I do."

"I love you too."

"That you do."

thieves' graces: a soukoku valentine (half-)week

you've been waiting. reading. leaving giddy bookmarks. (or, well, some of you, but i love everyone who read it and liked it, whether you left any sort of feedback or not)

and now it's time for the master post !! even if its going to actually be. kinda short for a master post :D

i found out about the week and started writing for it way too late to finish the full eight-day week, but i'm very happy with my results anyway :)

this series features: all parts rated M for swearing; an old soulmate AU i've been waiting impatiently to implement somewhere; a lovesick Dazai, coughing up flowers Chuuya is allergic to; completely unhinged for each other soukoku in the BEAST universe; a low angst/high comedy ADA!SKK crack treated seriously.

@skk-valentine-week hello and sorry for tagging on the last day, i was totally out of it by the time i was done writing and posting yesterday, and i decided i would make this post today for the sake of my sanity (and writing comprehension. mainly writing comprehension.), yours truly!

day prompts: Soulmate AU; Chocolates; "However far apart we fly, I still come down to rest beside you". while the first two are pretty obvious, I tried to implement the phrase not as being said, but as an overarching theme for the fic.

There's barely four steps between them, but Chuuya feels like he wouldn't reach him even if he ran, even if he let out Arahabaki to break the gravity, wreck the universe stuck between them, to finally truly physically touch, to bring him back down, to lay him to rest. It's painful how much he loves this bastard.

For four days, Dazai thinks it's the occasional smoke making him cough, or maybe a nasty cold. For two more, after he's absolutely sure the red thing that just came out of his mouth is not blood or a bit of his lung or red camelia, he thinks that this is the worst way to die. Not because it will be painful, but because of how embarrassing it will be. Or, as Alexander Pushkin wrote, “Love is the Devil’s jest”.

this one was the last to be written, so it can read a little messy, but i love it nonetheless. it's okay, but i might come back later and expand on some things, you know. i meant for the more vague described scenes to read as a band slowing backing away from the listener while they still play so the music gets quieter until it's gone.

Chuuya wouldn’t be able to tell you when this shitshow started, really. There was Dazai drinking, there was driving him home, there was him holding Chuuya’s face and mumbling about how the color is wrong. Chuuya bit back, hoping his Boss was inebriated enough already to forget by tomorrow. He wouldn't be able to tell how them brawling ended up with Dazai on top of him on the floor. And for a swaying drunk man, Osamu’s way too fucking quick with a fish fillet knife.

On Friday, Kunikida catches Chuuya alone in the little office kitchen as he refills his coffee. “Nakahara, can we talk for a moment?” “About..?” “You and Dazai.” For half a second, he's surprised Kunikida placed him as the level-headed one out of them two, and then he remembers the full extend of Dazai's Detective Jackass masquerade. “It's something about the office rules and such, right?” Kunikida nods. “Isn't partner issues should be discussed with both partners present part of it, too?” Crack, goes Kunikida's patience, and so does his belief in Chuuya's human decency.

i loved writing this one, SO MUCH. i had SOOO much fun with it, i haven't has such a time writing in awhile. i love them so much. poor kunikida, victim of my and my boys shared cruelty. i love ADA!SKK AUs such an incredible amount.
