You’ve only put out two spells so far but I’m already loving your homebrew content! Those two spells are some that I immediately feel like I could put into my game and not feel too worried about it being too over or under powered and that’s no easy feat. I do inherently have a small worry about spells that immediately send someone unconscious which are few and far between, but after actually thinking about it, sleeping dart seems a-okay! Did you have any kind of worry like that making the spell?

Hi! I'm really happy to hear that you're loving the content so far! I'm hoping to ramp up posting frequency soon :)! I can totally see where you're coming from with the concern for knocking someone unconscious with a first level spell slot. I think part of what made me feel okay and not really dwell on it was looking at monster's Constitution saving throw bonuses. Even at lower levels (before saving throw proficiencies become common) a lot of monsters tend to at least have some sort of bonus to Constitution saves, so using the spell tends to bring more of a risk of nothing happening than simply casting Sleep would. When looking at higher level play and boss monsters, you start seeing absurdly high Con saves (in the double digits) as well as Legendary Resistance. This sort of helps transition the first level spell from something that could be used as a gamble to take down low level bosses quickly to a something that can be just tossed at weaker minions when the caster is flush with lower level spell slots and the bosses are unlikely to succumb to the spell. So with all of that in mind, and after seeing it playtest a few times I felt pretty comfortable that it wouldn't be too much of a problem. :> Sorry if that was too much rambling!!
