Sometimes we need someone to simply be there, not to fix anything or do anything in particular. But just to let us feel we are supported and cared about.

A warm and comforting fruit salad that is cooked slowly in a crock pot. It's great as a side dish or dessert on a cold day.

Ingredients: 4 cups mixed fruits such as apples, pears, peaches, and pineapple, diced. 1/2 cup brown sugar. 1/4 cup orange juice. 1/4 cup melted butter. 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon. 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg. 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves. 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts optional.

Instructions: In a bowl, combine mixed fruits, brown sugar, orange juice, melted butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Transfer the mixture to a slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours, stirring occasionally. If desired, sprinkle with chopped nuts before serving.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 180 minutes

First Day of Official Summer

Ahhhhh...sleeping in today was wonderful. I feel so rested and ready (for nothing to do but whatever). Mike came in and complained to me about how he has to get up and go to work and I'm still sleeping when he comes back for lunch, blah blah, blah. Can you say jealous?

So I got up, shaved my legs (finally), prettied myself up and started the day. I made some fudge for my beloved from a box, cuz I am lazy. We'll see how it turns out, I'm hoping well because it took all of ten minutes to make, lol. 

For dinner I'm making tuna noodle casserole, a favorite of Mike's. So I'm going to clean up the kitchen and take out the dog and hopefully have a cozy night in watching a movie with my man. SUMMER!
