I know I'll get flak for saying this, I've completely forgiven Sanzaru Games for that infamous evil Penelope plot twist in "Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time" (yes, even the person/writer who came up with it I've forgiven them too) like LOOOOONG ago.

Yes, I find it to be really badly written twist but I stopped being mad for over a decade ago and I honestly wish other Sly Cooper fans would do the same.

Sometimes I think about how giddy I was when I found out Sly 4 was going to have time travel and hoped so hard that maybe, just maybe, my handsome Arpeggio would somehow make a return or a cameo, and then how hollowed I felt when I found that all he got was a mere mention in a loading screen like COME ON.

Missing Pieces: Daughter of The Trickster

Early during her time in the Prehistoric Era, Carmelita stormed off on Sly after declaring she would never fall for a thief again. Before gathering information, the vixen happens upon an interesting prehistoric artwork depicting a Tibetan Fox using their wiles to charm their foes and deliver justice to them.

Carmelita learns that there was something that her parents withheld from her thanks to seeing more of these paintings.

Her family line consists of trickster vigilantes. To summarize, she has kitsune blood in her thanks to her mother. As such, her capabilities start taking a turn for the supernatural. It's also how she can keep up with Sly without issues.

With that knowledge in mind, she ultimately decides to help the Cooper Gang out. Although she tells herself the alliance is only temporary initially, she genuinely grows to care about Sly and his friends as time goes on.

How I would characterize: Sly Cooper in an animated movie/series

If I would have the opportunity to wrire Sly Cooper for an animated movie, I would use some inspiration for his personality.

[NICK WILDE] ● Nick reminds me so much of Sly. Especially the way he interacts with Judy. Sly would be a charming quick-witted raccoon with smart tricks that takes away all the loot. But deep down, Sly is good-hearted and cares about his friends and his family. He sure does what he thinks is good for him, but he wouldn't never leave behind his gang or Carmelita.

[MR. WOLF] ● One of the traits that I'd like to see in an animated feature is Sly's interactions with the gang. Mr. Wolf has a really strong bond with his gang. I'm really curious of the way Sly would behave with Bentley, Murray, etc during a heist or during their daily life. I can see Sly playing chess with Bentley or buying (or stealing) candies for Murray (he does this because he cares!)

[ROBIN HOOD] ● This trait is his "Thievius Racconus" side. When I was a child, I've always imagined Sly in the place of Robin Hood; especially the part when he climbs Prince John's tower and steals his gold. Both are thieves of honor too. And I can see Sly helping a poor child by giving him some coins he stealed from a criminal.

[ZHEN] ● Character growth. Zhen develops from being an anonymous street thief to the student of the Dragon Warrior. I imagine Sly training to be a Master Thief. At first he does it for fun, but later that "fun" becomes his responsibilty to safeguard his legacy.

[SINBAD] ● Sly is known to have an adventurous side like Sinbad. Sly is known to be a world raccoon, so he would be accustomed with various cultures. Like Sinbad and Eris, I can imagine the face-to-face encounter with Sly and Clockwerk. The robotic owl would put him to test his mental sanity that would remind Sly of that terrible day when his parents were murdered. Like Sinbad overcame his ego, Sly must overcome his inner demons.

So, whst do you think of my perspective?

Thieves In Time Rewrite: Wilted Bluebell

Inspector Fox is not happy when she has to work with Sly and his Gang to not only get back home, but also to bring down the person responsible for this time traveling crisis.

When Sly tries to clear things up with Carmelita, his first attempt in the Wild West was a disaster. She tells him that he lied to her for one year, and she bought it hook, line, and sinker. She noticed his behavior changes and believes his urge to return to crime overrode whatever he felt for her. As such, she initially believed she was innocent in the whole ordeal.

And then, the vixen sees the gift he's holding in his hands.

Carmelita: What's in that box?

Sly held up the present wrapped in gold and red. Tennessee notices the purple bluebell attached to it.

Sly: *remaining calm* Something I've been meaning to give you once I came clean.

Carmelita doesn't buy it and smacks his gift away. Hard. The picture frame inside smashes apart once it hits the floor, breaking Sly's heart in the process.

Tennessee knew he needed to pull Carmelita away for a private talk once this was done.
