hey, looking for some theater advice if you have a minute! i'm a senior in college, about to finish a non-theater-related degree. i did tech theater all through high school, loved it, but didn't really consider it as a possible career. didn't go out for college theater until my junior year, got a spot working backstage on a show, and fell head over heels in love. kicking myself for not even thinking about majoring in theater, but it's too late now. You can absolutely pursue a theatre career without formal/university-level training. I recommend asking to shadow technicians currently working in your area and see if there are any sort of mentorship/internship programs available. I’m also cc’ing the Smblr Queen @thankyoufive to pitch in/toss to the the masses.
