Spent a few minutes wondering why the smell of vanilla and coconut kept following me.
I hunted all over the house.
Nobody else could smell it.
Was I hallucinating? Was I having some kind of seizure?! Why was this smell following me?!
Anyway turned out it was my lip balm.
Almost smell-a-vision
I’ve been anxiously waiting for today’s GMM to be posted ever since the accidental GMMore post on Saturday. It didn’t bother me one bit that I had already seen the More, I watched it again today, and it was all good.
Once again, my dad appeared from somewhere to watch GMM with me, and as much as I love the fact that he is slowly morphing into a small mythical beast, he kind of restricts me from enjoying all the little details of the show, because I have to explain him stuff and translate things the whole time. And I’m a bit vary about all the innuendos and stuff when he’s around - I don’t think he’d react that well to episodes like the jeans test or anything even slightly rhinky or controversial (unfortunately, he’s not the most openminded of people, which upsets me quite a bit - I’m in the process of broadening his views, but it’s not an easy task).
I love the idea of adding the scents to a unicorn’s butt instead of using something like cotton balls. Unicorns are one of my favourite kinds of mythical beasts, and the comment from Link about “that’s where rainbows come from” was so silly.
Rhett was being such a typical Rhett when he got all excited about going to work for a scent factory or something, and he was being so encouraging to Link, telling him that he was just as good at smelling things as he was.
It’s interesting how far Link has come as a person from the earlier episodes - it must be because he’s been forced to be in contact with all kinds of stuff since Jade came to his life. He can take almost anything nasty these days, and though he did gag a little, he wasn’t that grossed out at all. The fisher cat must have smelled horrible. When the unicorn almost hit Link, Rhett was so freaked out!
I’m so proud of Ellie for beating the guys with the Frankenscent challenge in GMMore. She’s not only a total cutie, but also pretty bad-ass, which is just lovely. I wonder if the smell stuck in Saagar’s beard? That would have been unfortunate.
The subtle way they promoted their merch at the end was quite classy. I’d so want to order some mythical pomade for myself but I’m chronically broke so I can’t.
This was a nice episode altogether, but I just saw the thumbnail for the new Ear Biscuits and I can’t wait to go listen to it. I think I saw some familiar faces on the thumbnail, and I’m most certainly going to watch this on the big screen (aka tv) instead of just listening to the podcast. :)
I woke up at 4 this morning because I could swear I smelled melting plastic, I searched the whole house and couldn’t find the source of the smell so I assumed I was having a stroke and went back to bed!
Finger sniffing.
Stray HANNIBAL thought (using all caps to distinguish the show from the character): I really appreciate the importance placed on smell as a channel of information. Which, yes, there are dozens of shots of Hannibal sniffing a glass of wine before taking a single careful sip, but there's also (e.g., of course there are other instances) the scene where he smells gunpowder on Alana's hands. I think about these things because I'm alert to smells myself. I get olfactory flashbacks more often than is typical. If I need sensory detail to ground a scene I'm writing, I'll turn to scent or texture as often as to something visual.
So I was half-asleep and window shopping Black Pheonix Alchemy Lab’s carnevale diabolique last night (omigod Faiza & Death Adder tho?????)
And anyways now I can’t stop thinking about whatif the dragon age franchise had a line for companions...
Smells related to things???
Do you ever just see or think something and then you catch like this whiff of air and in your mind ur like "I don't know what tht was and I've never smelt that before /but that's what it smells like/" cause that happen to me on a regular basis
