The cafe wasn’t the largest of places. It was small and quaint with little to no one in it besides the coffee deprived stranger. It was the perfect place for you to sit in the back corner with a stranger and invade their life.
“Here’s your two waters Y/n,” Nari, the shops owner, placed two glasses on the circular table you sat at. “Your little interviewee showing up anytime soon? It’s been like an hour.”
“He’s on his way… I promise,” You gave an awkward smile to the older woman in front of you.
Her eyebrow rose in a questioning way, “Whatever you say honey. If he doesn’t show up soon though I’m gonna-” You didn’t get to learn what Nari was going to do, as she was cut off by the bell of the door. In walked a boy, dressed head to toe in all black You couldn’t see much of him besides his searching eyes, that landed on you with a look of surprise. It made the faintest of color spread across you cheeks.
“Oh I see,” Nari grinned at you, slinking away from your table, “Have fun with that Honey~”
You had a second to give her a nervous smile before the boy was standing at the seat across from you, “I… um.. hi, are you Y/n?”
You nodded your head, a bit lost for words at the sound of his voice, “Jihoon?”
“Yeah, I’m really sorry for being late,” He scratched the back of his neck, looking down as he took the seat across from you.
“It’s alright,” You gave him a small smile, his shy antics heart warming,”You’re the captain… I can only imagine how hard it is to keep up with all of them, on and off the field.”
He gave a light chuckle, moving his hands up to remove the face mask covering his mouth, “You have no idea how exhausting they are.”
When he ripped off his face mask you recognized his smile. It was the same one the catcher had the day before, the one that made you think twice about sports.
Wonwoo really knew how to mess with you.
⚾️A Jihoon sm Au, where Y/n really doesn’t want to do the yearbook page for baseball because really what good could come out of snapping pictures of boys in tight pants and snap-backs ?
