Reading this Sunday
A Sense of Home by @snorklepie , chapters 1-3.
On paper, a bacon sarnie and a cup of good coffee isn’t exactly the kind of thanks one should receive for rescuing someone’s family member from an overdose; but Lestrade thinks that it’s possibly the best one he’s ever received.

Sherlock comes back about six months sooner than canon. A drunken night that leads to a first time, and what comes the next morning? ~3.5k
A Study in Sexuality by LaKoda0518
How could he not like sex, but like John Watson enough to want to touch him and be touched in ways he'd never wanted before? Unilock roommates, demisexual Sherlock. ~6k

Not dead. I wrote a thing!
So on a whim I may have recorded the first two chapters of A Sense of Home as a podfic yesterday. It needs quite a bit of editing, my accent is entirely out of keeping and at one point the recording features me muttering "Christ on a bike!". But enjoying it nevertheless.
Snarkiness aside, I’m actually really upset about The Edinburgh Problem being plagiarised. I feel a bit sick and shaky (and not to mention REALLY bloody pissed off). I spent the best part of a year working on that story and I’m actually really proud of it because I had never written a novel-length story before.
When someone comes along and steals something you’ve poured a lot of time, energy, thought and feeling into it actually stings. This person obviously thought it was totally ok to just take my story, translate it into another language and stick their name on it. It’s clear from the comments that they are absolutely 100% presenting it as their own work, not just a translation.
Maybe they thought no one would join the dots. It’s stupid and mean and petty and it’s incredibly thoughtless towards the feelings of people who put a lot of effort into their writing. I woke up this morning looking forward to my small window of time available for writing and now I don’t feel like it AT ALL.
