Looking for a song...

Hey guys. There’s this song that I’ve had on my brain for a few years now. When I was younger my grandfather gave me a CD he’d made with a bunch of random songs on it and I’d put them all on my iPod back when those were a thing. I’ve moved several times since then, cause life, and I believe I’ve lost the original CD so I can’t even find the song to Shazam it or anything. So I’m asking the internet for help! Here’s what I remember:

It was kind of Pink Floydy feeling in that there were audible cues from like outside noise like rain sounds and neat computerized stuff (I think even gorillas at one point???)

It’s kind of avant-garde and sounds trippy but it tells a story even though I can’t remember it well

It references the space oddesy movie part where the gorillas (see above bullet) greet the monolith. I feel like there were other sci-fi refs too

It’s kind of a somber/melancholy song that leaves you feeling like we’re all on this big ball of earth when there’s so much out there

I know that’s basically no information to go off of, but I’d be really grateful to find it. My grandpa passed while I was in high school and it’s not like I can just go ask him. But I miss the song because it makes me think of him.
