Beef Noodle Delight with Sweet and Spicy Sauce This quick and flavorful beef noodle dish combines tender steak, vibrant vegetables, and a sticky sauce for a satisfying meal. Ingredients For the beef: 500 g Steak 2 tbsp Cornflour 2 tsp Chinese 5 spice For the vegetables: 2 Green peppers, deseeded and sliced into thin strips 3 Spring onions, trimmed and sliced 2 tsp Red chilli, finely chopped 2 Cloves Garlic, minced 4 cm Ginger, minced For the sauce: 2 tbsp Tomato ketchup 3 tbsp Soy sauce 3 tbsp Sweet chilli sauce 3 tbsp Rice vinegar 4 tbsp Water For the noodles: 150 g Dried egg noodles To cook and garnish: 2 tbsp Sunflower oil Preparation: Cook the noodles in a pan of boiling water according to the pack instructions. While the noodles are cooking, prepare all of your vegetables and set them aside. Slice the steak into thin strips and mix it with the cornflour and Chinese 5 spice in a bowl until well coated. Set aside. In a small bowl, combine all the sauce ingredients and set aside. To cook: When the noodles are nearly done, heat a wok or deep frying pan over high heat with the sunflower oil. Add the steak strips in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan, allowing them to crisp up without too much movement. Once browned and crispy, transfer them to a plate lined with kitchen roll. In the now-empty pan, add the sliced peppers and red chilli, cooking for 2 minutes. Then add the minced garlic, ginger, and spring onion, cooking for an additional minute. Pour in the prepared sauce and cook until glossy, about 1 minute more. To serve: Add the drained noodles and the crispy steak back into the pan, stirring to coat everything in the delicious sauce. Garnish with extra spring onion and chilli for an added kick, if desired!
