Summary: Kryptonians are not human. It’s easy to forget, even for Clark. That being an alien means more than his powers. There are traits rooted into the DNA, coming out in the subconscious, until not even Clark notices. Kryptonians, among other things, build Bowers for their mates, beautiful homes to settle into. It’s more than a tradition, it’s a way of life.

When Clark begins to redecorate, he doesn't know why it matters so much to him. And why it matters even more when Bruce doesn’t even care.

Gabe catches up with Tyson as he’s leaving the ice, skating right in behind him and very nearly hooking a chin over his shoulder. Startled, Tyson doesn’t move away. Even with layers of padding and jerseys between them and thousands of eyes watching, Gabe feels good and Tyson isn’t strong enough to object.

“That power play goal was a thing of beauty,” Gabe murmurs, and Tyson shivers. Gabe’s voice is always pure sex and it’s not fair. “Seriously, Tys, you should be really proud of yourself.”

“I, uh---” Tyson clears his throat. “I am. But like. You can tell me more nice things about me if you want?”

Gabe’s laugh shivers through them both. “How about I come over tonight and show you all the ways I’m proud of you?”

Tyson is very, very okay with that.
