Dead in the Water is one of my all time favourite episodes so I was really excited to get to watch it again with the clarity of mind that I did not have as a wee child. Turns out it’s just as good as I remember. I feel like it’s such an important character defining moment for Dean in how he really is the big brother character. The way he always moves down to Lucas’ height, and speaks to him in simple words but doesn’t baby him really warms my heart. It really shows how much he was in charge of raising Sam. Not to mention it’s setting the scene for how Sam and Dean both respond to hunting for a good chunk of the show. Sam is doing it for revenge. Dean is doing it because he wants to help people.

Anyway D and N didn’t really have much thoughts about this episode other than “well now water is really scary” I’m excited for them to see the next one and have air get ruined too

1x3 (Dead in the Water) is literally one of THE Dean eps of all time. crying screaming gnashing my teeth about this weird man’s genuine empathy for traumatized kids. Giving them the comfort he didn’t really get. nobody look @ me

Also “we don’t have to hug or anything”, bich you wanna hug your brother so bad. shut up!!!!

This moment always touches my heart...That Dean got a child so lost, so traumatised to trust him ....that when he was in distress and pain and he couldn’t understand what to do, he reached out to the only person who understood what he was going through.

I think I know how you feel. When I was your age, I saw something. Anyway...well, maybe you don’t think anyone will listen to you, or uh, won’t believe you. Well I want you to know that I will.
