Happy Halloween - Trapped! edition
Salem!
This is my ghost boy Salem from a concept I came up with last year. I got too attached to the character (who isn’t even the main character) and decided not to scrap the idea so I just draw this guy every once in a while because why tf not?
I might write out a short story sometime on here for you guys to read, you never know
I also used a completely different platform than I’m used to; I usually use Clip Studio on my computer, but this time I used ibisPaint on my phone and I’m kinda on the fence about it but I think it turned out okay
there’s a massive cyclone
#SPOOKED!
Spooked! Guest Star: Motzie Dapul
Got to hang out with the fantastic and hilarious folks at Spooked! The improvised scary story podcast, where it's never scary and it's sometimes a story.
Definitely hoping to come back on to settle that beef.
You can listen to the episode on The Sonar Network, as well as anywhere you listen to podcasts!
The Spooky Cyclops and Odysseus Today on Spooked! Damien comes from a place where caves have doors, Micheal is a very good director, and Motzie checks out our money. It’s all about escaping our demons (or monsters!) So get some perspective, grab a couple reliable pals, and get ready to get Spooked!
Middle School Monday: Spooked! How a Radio Broadcast and The War of the Worlds Sparked the 1938 Invasion of America by Gail Jarrow
In 1938, a radio adaptation of the H.G. Wells novel The War of the Worlds was so believable that many people believed there was a real Martian invasion. It used an innovative format of having a music broadcast that sounded real (but was really fake) that was interrupted by news bulletins about Martians landing in New Jersey, emerging from their ships, and then attacking people. The broadcast was so believable that it kept some listeners glued to their seats, while others left their homes to see the locations that were mentioned on the show or even tried to escape before the Martians could get them.
This is a nonfiction book, which means that it’s a real book about a fake story. It contains lots of information about the broadcast, about the people who created it (including H.G. Wells and Orson Welles), and about the listeners who either loved or hated the broadcast.
P.S. - If you haven’t listened to that famous broadcast already, it’s absolutely worth a listen!!!
