I think a speedrun focusing specifically on catching the largest size of each fish could be interesting, simply because it's doing something with a generally useless (though I think it may determine the price? Kinda? Idk) stat. But I also think whoever does it would have to supply a lot of the entertainment on their own, because the fishing game would be very boring to sit through for that long.
I kinda wish more people wrote about Sebastians jealousy, i feel like when im reading some fics everyone has this perception of him constantly playing it cool even if he does have these feelings. I want to see more of him acting out, being childish, lashing out! He’s jealous of Maru, is proud of not lashing out at his mom like i think we could do something w this.. his insecurities are my favorite,,
I love the idea of a love triangle of Sebastian/farmer/abigail where the Farmer likes Sebastian, Sebastian likes Abigail, and Abigail likes the Farmer. But slowly Sebastian’s jealousy of the farmer turns into jealousy of Abby. Abigail is the only bachelorette/or that breaks the bouquet formula, she has a crush on the farmer i think starting at her 6th heart scene! I think this idea points more to a falling out between Sebastian/abigail but honestly that kinda happens as you romance them. I like the idea of pelican town being messy, it’s clear that not everyone gets along and that’s infinitely more interesting to me than everyone being pals.
Ya ever think about how Maru may have dyed her hair to connect with Sebastian?
I have started playing Stardew Valley again, and it's been a while, so I had forgotten how addictive the game is. At this point, I've played so much that it has started to invade my everyday life to an inane degree. Multiple times in the evenings as as it gets dark, I have found myself thinking, "What time is it?? I have to be at home and in bed by 2am!" only to realize that I am, in fact, in real life and not confined by the rules of game. I have also gotten real life days mixed up with my current day in Stardew more time than I really want to admit.
shane pt 2
heres a few more headcanons/whatnot of our favorite depressed chicken man, let me know some of your's
if you married shane, he would without a doubt help you around the farm, even helping with crops, but the one part hed love the most is taking care of the coop/s, especially the chickens
with chickens in mind, this man has a dilemma anytime hes served chicken, cause he loves chickens but they also taste really damn good, the only reason he will eat it, is that he rationalized that chickens eat each other so its probably not a big deal if he eats them too lol
shane had hand raised charlie, from a newly hatched chick, which is why they're so close(also why she gets her own private coop on the farm lol), shes actually the mother of some of shanes firs-gen blue hens
and with that, can we admire how dedicated he is to his chickens, he managed to create an entirely new breed of chicken with a feather colour/tone considered impossible, in roughly half the time it normally takes to create a new breed chicken (may have to do a whole post about that)
Stardew Valley is the perfect game for us non-binary, gender-fluid folks because we can choose male or female, BUT... that has nothing to do with what you look like. Make yourself up to be who you want to be. Wanna play female, but have mutton chops and bald head? Sure! Do you feel more male today but want to put on earrings and a pink skirt? Go for it!
All the marriage candidates will accept you for whoever you are as long as you talk to them and give them what they love. I only wish we could dress up our spouses, as well.
More thoughts on growing old in Stardew.
The farmer and their spouse are itching with cabin fever in their retirement from the farm. The kids have taken over almost every aspect of running it, continuing the family business.
However, giving up control of the farm that the farmer raised from the ground up is hard. The farmer insists on walking the property to check that their perfectionist standards are being upheld. The farmer pauses for a moment in the old barn and motions towards the food trough, “you young things, I bet you didn’t clean behind THIS!” They quickly lift the hay dispenser, as if to catch the kids in a criminal act, only to find it completely spotless. Both of the siblings give each other a look, an eye roll and knowing smirk, but say nothing.
After that, the farmer backs off and gives the children more control of running the farm. They learned from the best, you know. The farmer and spouse fill their time with other activities. Like picnicking with the slimes under the mushroom trees, both wearing their matching rings so the slimes know they mean them no harm or starting water balloon fights near the fishing ponds. The fish jump through the air whenever someone lands a blow, splashing water into their tanks. Their favorite pastime, though, is walking the trail through the bee houses with their now just as old pooch. Taking deep breaths of the beautiful flowers that are carefully planted alongside the bee houses. They both take a long breath of fresh air, somehow the honey in the air smells sweeter since the kids planted the flowers around here, and embrace each other. Neither of them know when the other will let go, but in those moments they were both alive.
