The Shuttle by Frances Hodgson Burnett is a novel for adults that's just as lovely as her novel for children. A wonderful heroine who helps her sister recover from an abusive marriage and revitalizes a crumbling old manor, while also falling in love with an impoverished, hardworking local lord. It's pretty great.

Reread Father Tood AU, and it gave me so much peace. It’s interesting how something done out of love and reverence for God can bring peace. I always think about the quote by Simone Weil who said something like “Unmixed attention is prayer,” and it has me thinking how even the “silly” things can be done to glorify God. It’s really apparent that that’s what you’ve done, and I’m just reaching out because it was important to me, and I wanted to share it with you. Thanks! 🩷

I'm glad it brought you peace! And yeah, there was a point when I was writing the one about Jason's ordination that I realized it was more of a spiritual meditation on the priesthood than a fan fiction. All of our creative efforts are at their best when ordered towards the Creator.

Spring! The world is coming to life again!

Bringing It To the Table by Wendell Berry, to get thinking about the harm of industrial agricultural practices and the fragmentation of knowledge.

There's a painting of the Assumption of Mary at a church I go to a lot that I rather like, because it makes me feel like I'm floating in light.
