idk why but I'm just thinking about the joker have different bird names for all the batfam (-batman) and just refusing to call them their real vigilantes names to mess with them
Dick: Macau [specifically a red rainbow one, has most of the robin color and a very smart bird thats been commonly used for intertainment]
Jason: eagle sometimes emu [eagles will push other eggs out of the nest and emu are one of the only birds to have war waged on them also its a flight less bird connection to him "losing his wings"]
Tim: cowbird or albotros [the cowbirds a jj reference and albotros are thought to be able to sleep while flying its never been proved but it's assumed based on the amount of time they spend in flight over sea I have a more exact reason as to why I picked a cowbird and not w cookoo if anyone wants to hear it]
Stef: magpie or owl [extremely smart bird I don't know as much about the rest of the characters]
Cass: crow [bird of omen they used to circle war grounds after a battle to scavenge]
Damian: vampire finch [this bird is best know for the fact that it drinks blood from 2 other birds]
Duke: mourning dove [it's a pun...]
