In astrology, a stellium is a cluster of 3 or more planets in a house or a specific zodiac sign. There is obsessive, potent and more focused energy in that specific area of life that the astrological sign or house represents. Eg. 7th House = partnerships. For now, I will be focusing on the house energy.

You are dealing with the extremes of that specific sign/house energy. With this series, I will help you in how you can use your stellium energy to your advantage - and how you can create more stability with this powerful energy!

So what can we do to improve this? In order to balance out this 7th house energy, astrology guides us to focus on the opposite house themes, which, in this case, is the 1st house. However, this doesn’t mean you ignore the 7th house themes, it’s just about knowing and applying both 1st and 7th house energy in order to have moderation in life and feel more balanced. You can then use your stellium energy to your advantage as you feel more energised and less drained from your stellium.

Focus on 1st House themes like...

ooooh do you think sign stelliums or house stelliums are more powerful in a chart? as in if you have a sign stellium and a house stellium which one would you feel more?

honestly, i don’t think either is more powerful inherently! it moreso depends on the planets, their aspects, and the amount of planets involved. a sign stellium of five planets will likely be more apparent in a person than a house stellium of only three planets; a house stellium involving mainly personal planets will likely be felt more than a sign stellium involving outer planets. but both are going to be felt regardless, just in different areas of life or aspects of self.

i will say that house and sign stelliums definitely feel different. a house stellium moreso amplifies an area of life. a seventh house stellium amplifies partnerships/relationships in a person’s life; they’re more influenced by/focused on these things than others. a libra stellium however amplifies charm, fair-mindedness, talkativeness, etc in a person. it may not make them more relationship focused, despite libra associations, unless the stellium involves venus or moon.

for example, i have a ninth house stellium; ninth house is often connected with sagittarius (not the same thing, but similar associations). so often, i relate heavily to sagittarius associations because of my ninth house stellium (i also have sagittarius mercury too though). i’m obsessed with travel, language learning; i struggle to commit to studies, i always need to be learning, my life focuses heavily around philosophy & spirituality/growth/expansion, i cannot be told what to do, etc. my house stellium comes out more in my habits, interests, direction; rather than my personality traits. if you ask anyone in my life, they’ll tell you i don’t very much reflect a sagittarius personality wise at all, but i FEEL very much like a sagittarius internally; because of my ninth house stellium. on the other hand, i have a capricorn stellium, but i barely notice it in myself because i don’t often think too “capricorn-like” unless it comes to relationships or work habits. but other people very much notice my capricorn, which is probably due to my tenth house stellium + the fact my more “interactions based” planets (venus/mars) are in capricorn.

i don’t really have the classic ninth house or “sag-associated” traits such as being loud, harshly blunt, confident, etc. if i were to have a sagittarius stellium, however, that’s when i would likely show those classic sagittarian traits. but with a sagittarius stellium, let’s say i had a 9th house in a sign like taurus (very homebody- ninth house again relates to travel/expansion/education/etc) , with mercury there for example, i may actually dislike travel and have little interest in expansion/growth as taureans tend to be stuck in their ways. i would likely also be very focused on one path of study due to that taurean influence in the ninth. but with the sagittarius stellium i would still generate many other sag traits (talkativeness, philosophical, etc). it’s very dependent on one’s entire chart! 

but generally i try to explain it like; houses moreso dictate WHERE energy and focus go. the sign the house is in, and the planets involved, can give you the idea of how that energy functions and expresses. signs dictate HOW energy is expressed. and planets dictate what energy is being expressed.

here’s another example:

saturn (responsibility, structure, restriction) + sun (ego, hobbies, personality) + mars (energy, motivation, drive) + sixth house (routine, health, work) + aquarius (unconventional, outgoing, hot and cold, creative, etc).

an aquarius stellium in the 6th with saturn/sun/mars would make a person very committed to their routines and work; but their routines/work would likely be unique and unusual. they may be overly controlling and perfectionistic when it comes to work; but also would be naturally charming and charismatic leaders. they’d be very great with problem-solving in their daily life and workplace, and would be able to come up with easier, unique ways to complete and solve things. this person would be very goal-oriented and work-driven; but it’s likely they may prefer “unconventional” places of work, likely being creatives and independent. the sixth house stellium doesn’t really create many personality traits, it’s more like habits, interests, behaviours/feelings.

meanwhile, their aquarius stellium would make them very logical/analytical, intimidating, likely come off cold/unemotional, talkative yet reserved/secretive, very into social media, inventive/create, charming/flirty, etc. the aquarius sign stellium on the other hand creates more direct personality traits.

although of course, house stelliums can create direct personality traits occasionally (especially with first house stelliums), and sign stelliums can of course create habits, feelings, interests, etc (especially when it involves sun/moon/mercury).

Would you rather have your libra 8th house stellium or an 8th house in taurus stellium

8th house libra for sure, i think 8th house taurus would feel very overwhelming to keep inside. i’m glad to have air balancing my water stuff because it means that i have a need to process it externally somehow which requires me to process it without hiding it. taurus is so internal ! but i actually do not have a libra 8th house stellium! i have an 8th house stellium but my 8th house touches both scorp and libra. so my sun, mercury, mars, and jupiter are in the 8th house and my sun/jup is libra, my merc/mars is in scorp <3

hey angel! i have a question, my chart is very water dominant, especially cancer. i have sun, mercury, mars, venus and north node in cancer! i see a lot of people saying i would be compatible with people that have water signs too because we could relate ..? but a other half saying it should be someone with total opposite signs to balance it out. what’s ur take on this?

Hey there!! ❤️💕❤️💕❤️💕 AH that’s a lot of cancer!! Wonderful!! ❤️💕❤️💕 I think honestly you can have both? Like you don’t have to limit yourself to hanging out with one group of people or the other, and usually a mixture of the two could be really helpful with yourself in the overall scheme of things? ❤️💕

Point 1 (trines) and Point 2 (stellia) ⬇️

Point 1

Like say, people recommend water signs for you because they could be trine to your cancer. Water as much as yours, hopefully someone who has a water placement (maybe not even in their sun, but a water rising/moon/mercury/venus/mars are good too) could connect to you in a soothing manner (with the same/similar style). 

But what they offer might not be the same thing you offer -- some people can be made up of other things too. Like rocks and volcanoes and ashes along with their waters. 

You don’t have to be on a look out for water suns in particular, you may find yourself being surrounded by water in other areas. 

Those thing can bring you closer together, and it usually happens very naturally. When people say hey, maybe waters are good to you. Usually you check their chart after you know them, and see if there’s a specific thing/pattern maybe you are drawn to (noticing patterns for yourself). 

Most of the time, you might find that it’s in other things that keeps you together. Maybe let’s say you find yourself knowing a few Aquarius or Sagittarius. Other connections to Cancers can occur as well (inconjunct)-- and have a pull on you that might be more prominent to you and your experience. Cancers can make aspects to Aries, Libra as well. It’s all a part of the journey and I think it’s more to do with you and what you need to experience/move on in your journey as well (if that makes sense)

Point 2

As for opposite signs, that’s also validly coming from a place that sees your Cancer as a stellia. When you have a stellia, you have a lot of energy gathered in one place because of the conjunction it’s making to each other (like molecules!) -- with a lot of energy there, in order for it to not -- you know, over-exhaust itself or combust (aka how to get it to chill out) -- we usually look at the opposite sign and house to see where we can take/spread that energy and balance it better.

It’s kinda like having two glasses, but one glass is already full of water. Looking at the other sign-- Capricorn in this case, and the house that it’s in--  is like going well hey, I still have this glass that I can put my energy in, so that I can grow/receive more for my Cancer glass as well -- y know? So you (yourself) can look at your opposite house as a way to help balance your stellium out as well.

One thing to note is that no one actually balances your energy out for you-- so finding another person with a Capricorn stellia isn’t an end all be all case for everyone. It’s useful definitely, to have them around and they are *knocks their collar bones* rock solid. But it’s you who has to assimilate the experience and interaction with them, and make sense of the way they work in order to make it useful to you too. Y know? Or like at least to understand and appreciate their nature.
