A Knightfall/Prodigal Reverse Robins AU where:

Duke is the first. After his parents become jokerized, he is fostered by Bruce Wayne and becomes "Lark." Eventually, he grows up, leaves Bruce's side and becomes "Signal." Instead of the Titans, he has the Outsiders.

Steph is the second. After taking her father down, she becomes Batman's second partner. Unfortunately, she dies after being tortured by Black Mask.

Damian is the third. A few months after Steph's death, a 10-year-old Damian is dropped off on Bruce's doorstep. Recognizing Damian's traumatic upbringing and still reeling over Steph's death, Bruce refuses to make Damian his partner, focusing on JPV instead. Tim Drake. Like the original story, a paralyzed Jack Drake is kidnapped with Shondra Kinsolving. Bruce leaves Gotham in JPV's hands to rescue Shondra (and Jack too, I guess). This leaves Tim Drake alone in Gotham with nothing but trouble to get into.

POV: you're 23-year-old Duke Thomas. Your former foster father/mentor asks you to become Batman while he retrains his body.
