Hate seeing people say that Tim Drake is the most disrespected robin.

Did we forget Stephanie Brown? Did we forget that she was only given the mantle so her death would "matter more"? Did we forget that she didn't even get a memorial in the batcave?

People love to say that Tim or Jason or even Damian are the most disrespected Robins, but no one likes to talk about how even other superheroes treated Steph when she was Robin.

We neeeed more Jason and Steph interactions. Like first of all they could bond over other people (Batman) thinking of them as failures, but also they actually have very similar philosophies about crminials. Steph expressed on a few occasions that she thought it would be better if they could kill the worst of the worst rogues. Heck on her first mission she was nearly fired for using lethal force. I think they both have similiar philosophies about killing being necessary in their line of work even if they don't want to do it. They also obviously both "died" and came back, they both have complicated relationships with fathers who were criminals. There is so much for them to bond over.

The Steph-cuts-her-hair-short-because-it-bothers-her-under-her-Spoiler-mask to Steph-now-has-her-hair-just-hanging-there-loosely-getting-sweaty-under-her-hood-and-in-her-face pipeline saddens me.

I know it's not popular to obsess over practicality in superhero comics (And BQM even included a little jab at fans like me complaining about her hair in her Batgirl solo THANKS BRYAN) (the Babscowl bothers me less than her current look though because at least the cowl keeps it out of her face)

But the fact the comics showed her actively worrying about her hair:

Then deciding to go with a ponytail sticking out to deal with this:

THEN cutting it short to deal with it:

Just made her feel really real to me. It was one of the things that made me connect to her so hard, that she felt like a real teenage girl even in the minor details like that. And the fact this was all implied, she never SAID that the ponytail was to deal with her hair under the mask, she never SAID the hair being short was to help with the mask, it was just something you noticed if you remember that Robin #25 panel and connected the dots.

It also SAYS something about Steph. The fact she cut her hair for the sake of being Spoiler shows how much more she prioritizes her life as a superhero over her civilian life, and how she took it even more seriously as time passed. It also gave the implication she likes to be comfortable, which you could see extend to her choice in a really practical costume.

But that kind of started slowly disintegrating as time went on, and while teen me was dramatic about it, I do look back on it and be like, "man, I miss that careful continuity in the little details of her life".

Can't stand how people are so dismissive of Steph's actions in War Games. "She was reckless and decided to start a gang war" no she fucking didn't, she was expressly trying to stop gang wars. Was enacting such a complicated plan without telling anyone a rash decision? Yeah, sure, but she was a teenager trying to prove herself to a mentor who fired her for no good reason and was always unfair to her. The only reason her plan failed was because Bruce refused to tell her any of his secret identities, which even Catwoman was shocked by. A Robin should know Batman's secret identities, so shit like this doesn't happen!
