But it's done! And it has pretty much everything important to this version of stick Alan, so it'll be a really good reference to use if I ever get around to actually writing the fic lol
Hopefully everything's legible, if not I can post a scaled up version.
Anyway, here's some standalone pics of both of Alan's forms below the read more.
Animator vs animation "is this a cult?" au head cannons
Some head cannons for the au. Some are copied from previous posts.
Old
1. There is no way in hell that only that one Rocket Corp employee watched the show down. What are the odds. And being that close to the city there had to be at least one security camera pointed in that direction. Especially sense we know that TCO and TDL probably went to the city semi frequently for supplies. With the size of the explosions there is no way that nobody saw anything. (Edit: there's a short showing that there were news cameras pointing at the scene)
2. Stick social media has to exist. Someone posted that shit on stick-tube or something and now everyone knows that TCO has a little brother that lives with their creator.
3. With a mix of Purple living in the outernet and Green's influencer ark we now have hundreds of folks from the outernet that follow the "Cult Kids" online. (People recognize TSC from the videos) They see how weird they are and how they talk so highly of their creator and assume something is up bc "how can the creator of The Chosen One be good? I call bull!" And the cult rumors practically sprout wings with how far they go. (Edit: the gang becoming public knowledge will come up late in the story)
4. I think its an open secret that Victim and TCO have the same creator. The hollow heads, the naming conversations, all dead give aways.
4.5. I have a head cannon that sticks have their creator's watermark or some adjacent mark to indicate who made them. With all the magazines Vic. has been on and all possible sightings of TCO someone has mad the connection at some point. (My in universe reason for Rocket Co.'s stocks dropping other than Victim's mental health.)
New
5. TCO is permanently stuck between the physical and mental ages of 16 to 19. The "chosen hero" trope in literature is often applied to teenagers and I think it would be funny if that affects TCO.
6. The stick Freedom adds tell me that a good few people mistreated their creations to the point of those being necessary. The destruction of Newgrounds caused a spike in awareness to these adds. People believed that the characters in the sight ripped it up from the inside out.
7. There is a fundraiser for fixing Newgrounds due to how bad TDL and TCO wrecked the place. The site was beloved enough that people want it back but the damage was a lot. There's like 7 years of on and off volunteer work to fix it.
8. After the Showdown it becomes known that TCO was involved with the Newgrounds shutdown and Noogai is harassed to cough up a percentage of the needed funds for the site's revival. This leads to Noogai telling TCO "you broke it, you pay for it" (see number 9)
9. TCO dose odd jobs around the net to pay the debt he now has (see number 8). Think how in the movie "Ralph Breaks the Internet" they have to go get Shank's car to make money. That's the kind of work TCO dose. This gives him something other to do then be depressed and run from the murks.
10. TCO visits the Color gang frequently enough that Noogai and TSC made a bedroom for him on the PC. He doesn't want it at first but gets talked into a sleepover and opts to use it instead of the couch when he hears how bad Red needs a CPAP machine
11. Red snores loud enough to wake the dead
12. The Color Gang have their own bedrooms
13. TSC's bedroom is sound proof (see number 11)
13,5. That sound proofing is lower quality so still doesn't save TSC from mid night raves
14. The avast Antivirus software manifests as a mix of a weighted vest and a child leash after the show down. It has a strap that Noogai uses as a handle like those videos of parents putting toddlers in overalls for the same purpose.
15. TCO dose not like number 14 but is aware that it's emergencies only and that the alternative is the og ball and chain.
16. The demon stick from animation vs school was initially made as part of the avast protocol for containing/training TCO. It was repurposed for TSC because Noogai had the "teacher" program already and it would just mean shifting the subject mader.
17. TCO learned TSC was being taught by the avast program and nearly bricked Noogai's PC until he was convinced to sit in on a lesson and begrudgingly agreed to not interfere. That doesn't mean he doesn't bitch about it though.
18. Noogai has a stick form. A violet hollow head that bleaches white when he's using his powers or is just really pissed. He slowly fades back to normal after.
general example
19. Sticks lose their color when deathly ill. This makes Noogai's self bleaching terrifying to anyone who doesn’t know it doesn't hurt him.
20. All the hollow heads trigger and uncanny valley vibes, Noogai more so than the others
21. The Color Gang are not effected by the uncanny valley because before the Showdown they had only interacted with each other and TSC so no baseline for "normal"
To start off I realize I never did a ref for Hangman and figured I should throw in stick!Alan with them so they're not alone (plus some fluffy baby birds as a bonus). Hangman is a jackdaw, a small and playful corvid. There's not much to say about them other than that I hope Alan sent them to the Outernet instead of erasing them. They looked so happy and friendly in those five seconds of screentime they got. Stick!Alan is a ziz, another mythical bird like Eye and Orange. Zizs are gryphon-like creatures that represent the sky and the bounds of creation, which is pretty fitting for a creator entity originally from another realm accessed through a sky dome. If I were deciding a bird for human Alan he would be some other normal bird but since this stick!Alan is an animator turned stickfigure he gets to be special. He can change the size of his wings and prefers them to be a lot smaller than normal, among many other powers that came with being a hollow head stick.
Woe baby Purple be upon ye.
Baby avians are basically just baby birds for most of their newborn and toddler years. Grown avians can eat whatever they want but babies need to adhere to the diets of their wild bird counterparts. So Purple, being a lyrebird, needs insects and worms. They typically grow out of their pacman mouth but some don't.
Some color gang right before they met Orange. There're a lot of little details, or rather lack there of, in this. I'm wondering if anyone can point them all out.
And finally Green's noteblock concert. Look at this pretty peacock, showing off his tail in what's definitely not just an elaborate courtship ritual for the lyre in the audience.
It's pretty fun imagining how Green's tail acts in this au. Obviously it fans when trying to impress someone, but I also like the idea that he can control it as if it actually had bones.
(btw how does his tail look from the original design? I'm still figuring out how to draw it fanned out. Feedback is always welcome)
Ok so bit of a life update, this was supposed to be done a while ago, along with other avian art I have planned, but life hit me real hard. I don't want to bum anyone out so I won't say what happened. Drawing has helped me get back to some normalcy at least.
Anyway, like I said I have more art ideas for the avian au so look out for that.
au where alan uses vr to get into the desktop and like nothing goes wrong until he realizes that he's feeling way too many phantom sensations for it to be normal for vr and a few of them shouldn't even be possible (feeling them even though he didn't see the touch) and when he tries to take off the headset it doesn't come off
