idk this came randomly, so if it sounds a bit drawn out, that's why - completely natural, and i swear i wanted to let all of them out but then i realized my window was open and i heard ppl walking soooo i stifled

Fun snz fact about me: I can stifle silently.

other fun snz fact about me: I don't like doing it not because it's painful (it isn't) but because in my (correct) opinion it's a waste of a perfectly good sneeze

Edit: I wanted to show y'all proof so here's me definitely not sneezing or allergic to anything and also being excellent at holding back until I'm not.

Unfortunately, I haven’t had the privacy to record any proper wavs lately, but I managed to sneak this one a few days ago!

Had to keep quiet because my family was awake and this house has disgustingly thin walls, but I’ve been waking up with the itchiest, sniffliest nose lately. I think it’s from all the rain recently and my healing nose piercing. My nose always gets stuffy and my sinuses get achy whenever the air pressure changes, especially if it hasn’t rained in a while, but normally I don’t get too sneezy. It all sort of culminated when the swelling of the piercing went down too, so I think the longer post is driving my weather-sensitive sinuses nuts haha all I know is that these sneezes would not be held back or driven away no matter how hard I tried!

CW: Stifles (aside from a triple at the end I was just too desperate to stifle), a few hitches/false starts, itty bitty tiny little bit of begging/coaxing the tickle towards the end, sniffling, brief dog barking in background (sorry y’all she’s a baby and she’s just discovered how fun it is to use her voice 🤦‍♀️)

Do you try to stifle your sneezes in-front of people / in public ?

As for stifling around people - it usually depends on the situation rather than the person. I don't mind if others hear my sneeze, be it friends or strangers. The only times I'd usually stifle are if I'm somewhere quiet (don't want to disturb others) or for hygiene (can't cover in time/potential for mess). I've also become pretty successful at holding back - either through willpower alone, or by rubbing and scrunching my nose as a last resort. But I hate losing a sneeze, so I'll try and see it through to completion if I can 😌

Do you stifle in public?

Hey thanks for the question! It depends, my 'default' is to not stifle as I find sneezing openly more satisfying, however I do stifle in some situations - usually when I'm somewhere quiet and I don't want to disturb people (exams, libraries, meetings for example). Or if I'm in close proximity to others to avoid spreading germs lol. Maybe I'll record a stifle wav soon?
