What's it called when you put permanent waves in your hair? I know there's a term for it, but I can't think of it and I'm considering that for my hair style.
Like those, but chemically, so it's permanent, like I have it straightened now.
Or I could straighten it again. Or maybe ringlets! Never done ringlets...
Other ideas are also welcome. It's down to my waist with really sad ends, and so much growth since last time I straightened it that it's starting to get a weird texture on the top half.
So my "straightening" brush came today! I say "straightening" because I did not expect it to completely straighten my hair like a flat iron 🤣 It feels like a good medium between a blow-dryer and an actual flat iron. I'm still going to use heat sparingly, but it's nice I can do this myself. Silk presses? We're saving those for professionals and not my clumsy self 😩
I sprayed my braids with water, so they would be damp, and then with heat protectant. I did blow dry my hair a little bit cuz I didn't want to wait 6 weeks for them to air dry in the braids.
This is how my hair looked after going through it with the brush on 380° (I'm too chicken to do 450° and my heat protectant was running low).
For a lower heat on kinky hair, I actually liked it. I went over them again on 420° (we not tryna blaze this hair out here 🌚🌝)
They're pretty straight! Now are they bone straight? Nope. But that wasn't what I was going for so that wasn't a problem for me. My roots could've been a little straighter but that also could've been my own error. So another run would be needed. Result: little more than blown out afro. It also didn't take too long to actually do this process with the brush.
Bonus: I can still fluff it up and play with it

Mikumo TLC
Last night I tackled detangling the mess that was Mikumo’s wig. The curls were just about destroyed after wearing them two cons in a row without really taking care of them well. And I had brushed them out poorly too. To fix this I used a hairdrying brush and worked section by section to pull out the knots and tangles. The dryer also pulled out all of my curls and straightened the wig, but I had intended on re-doing all of them to begin with. Overall I’m incredibly pleased how quickly my Bi Voltage worked on this!
Japanese Hair Straightening: Everything You Need to Know About The Treatment
We have come a long way in our search for straight hair. While the first straightener was invented in 1909, there were days of using an ironing board to smooth out the frizz, and now we have pretty much any tool and product under the sun promising sleeker strands whenever we want. But if you’re looking for a more permanent solution, a.k.a. a break from using a hot flat iron regularly, there’s one…
